have you ever had that time when you feel like your faith is almost dead? like you could lose your faith any moment? this is my day today, this isn't the same as feeling apart from god and is a first for me. i have been ignoring god for a while and just did as i pleased. i saw my faith was almost dead and i immediately sought after god and i prayed with a humble heart. this is now a waiting game as i try to do better to follow his commands and be a better christian. my computer is broken so i am writing with my 3ds, i became so obsessed with my pc and games and i am glad it is broken because i feel god is deciplining me with love and i cant believe i actually am grateful for his dicipline but it was an awakining for me. i feel like there is a darkness holding me keeping my faith weak and shaken but yet i do not feel alone, like there is a powerful light. like this was supposed to happen for my growth. i said to god a week ago my faith seemed stale and i prayed for a rebirth in my faith. god does not always just answer our prayers. if you ask for more blessings does he just hand it to you or does he give you an opportunity to get the blessings? i hope this is the opportunity for a rebirth in my faith, i certainly feel like a rebirth is at hand but i also fear this is just a good mood and will not last, but honestly that sounds like the devil talking. i don't know why i put this in the prayer forum but i felt compeled to say these things
Charles Spurgeon once said, "WHAT! is Christ thy Brother, and does he live in thine house, and yet thou hast not spoken to him for a month? I fear there is little love between thee and thy Brother, for thou hast had no conversation with him for so long." It sounds like, from your confession, that you were distracted from intimacy with Christ by games.
Suppose a man, who has a wife, were to spend more time with his friends than with his wife -- we would not be astonished that he knows more about his friends than his wife at the end of every month. It's true that playing video games is not a sin, but it does take time from other things. Paul says in 1 Cor. 6:12, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable."
The Scriptures commands us to "Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life." And Romans 12:2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind." Remember that "faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." The more time we spend meditating in God's word, the less likely we are to disbelieve it.
Men disbelieve God because they don't know Him. It was remarkable to read the other replies to your confession. You could tell, by what some of the people wrote, that these individuals know God: one testified of His faithfulness and another testified of His love.
Spend much more time with the one who gave Himself for you, and all of your fears, concerns, and doubts, will be abated.
