Attraction might be what brings two people together but.....in the end there has to be something more to keep them together.

With the speed that my hair and beard grows, after 7 years in Tibet I would look more like Chewbacca then Brad Pitt - lol.

Now you have me wondering if attraction to a Wookie would be deceptive (I still love Leia's best line, "Will someone get this walking carpet out of my way?!!!"). I mean, seriously... he may have all that fur but after a good case of razors... would a nice guy be hiding underneath?! Would possible death by EXTREME tufts of fur be worth the risk???
Why bother with charm when you can just grow carpet... er, body hair.

A woman's love, knowledge, and continuous search for the Lord IS A MUST for any kind of attraction to kick off in my mind. When i didn't know the Lord, any decision i made was a lost cause, any judgement i made about anything was being steered by earthly emotions which was incredibly deceptive in itself. Since i got to know God and started putting Him in every decision i made in life, the answers and direction became so clear and my decisions were so easily made and successful. Can attraction be deceptive? If being led by the wrong guidance, of course it can and there's nothing stopping it decieving you. But Satan himself can't decieve you when you put your complete faith in the guidance of God's hand. He'll certainly try, but God won't let anything happen to his own. THIS IS GOD ALMIGHTY! He's incredibly awesome. And He loves us unconditionally. What would our earthly fathers do if they saw us in trouble? They would do everything in their power to save us. How much more, then, would our Heavenly Father do, who created us and already proved to us that He's willing to die for us?

Reminds me of that character in my favorite movie that vowed he would date only plain or otherwise homely women because beauty deceives. This quest didn't last very long. He ended up dating first a Spaniard that he perceived as ugly, but wasn't, then had a long trounce with a blonde Spaniard whom he admitted was beautiful, and finally married a Spaniard who he also admitted was beautiful.
Beauty can cloud our desires, but refraining from a date for that reason has more potential for you to deceive yourself than the opposite.
That and women like being called beautiful. Lying about it would get you to a bad place.

I wouldn't say that attraction itself is the deception. The lure of attraction can blur one's insight and influence one's opinions. I have found this to be the case most times myself.
I have more thoughts on this, but I can't really put them into words right now..
My pastor was over 300 lbs.& was sitting on her with 2 other guys tried to hold her down. She tossed him off. Does that satisfy your curiosity?

A man is drawn to the female form. He can't help himself! That's the way he was designed. Adam loved Eve the second he saw her (before he knew what her hobbies and ambitions were). It's only natural to be physically attracted to a woman. Yes, it is the initial reaction and no, it is not the glue that will hold two people together.
Just because a woman is beautiful (to you) does not mean you should write her off. There are lots of worthy women out there who are very attractive and just as many that are beautiful but, sorry, vapid (same for men). Maybe just don't get carried away with your initial feelings. You have to be honest with God with your feelings towards a particular woman so that you won't be fooled into thinking you really care for the wrong woman.

Seoulsearch, I guess Princess Leia didn't find Chewbacca very attractive! But if you combined Chewie's facial hair, fur, and his wookie growl with my dazzling charm and striking personality, then Hans Solo would not have stood a chance!!! Leia then would have said "Will someone get this walking dynamo my phone number!!!"
