Do little kids go to Hell for playing?

What I mean is if they are playing a game and pretend to be a mommy, or a fireman, or a cowboy, do they go to hell since they're lying to others saying "I'm a fireman!" ? How is that any different than telling "lies" to your children about Santa?

Big difference.....namely that you are past the age of accountability.
Another is: if you tell them to believe in a fictitious being who brings material gifts(mammon),
how do you not expect them to follow after mammon when they grow up? - After all, mommy and daddy told me it was O.K.
This idea will be seared into their earliest memories. And subconsciously kept without a reversal by the Holy Spirit Himself.

How is it any different than celebrating birthdays? Aren't we taking Christ out of that day by telling them "This is your special day" and forcing them to forget about our Lord while they blow out the candles? We lie to them then too, it's not their special day, no day is.
 
It was the day God gave them to their parents.
I'd say that was pretty special.
At least the parents aren't pimping some lie, in the name of "he knows when you've been good".
Another outlandish claim.
"If you do real good a fat guy will give you material gifts.''
What preparation for falling to prosperity preachers.
No wonder that false doctrine took off so well......

So you're perfectly ok with your child placing themselves before the Lord? You're ok teaching them that the day they were born is a day devoted COMPLETELY to them instead of our Lord? Do they not get gifts for doing nothing? This promotes laziness and pushes them further away from the Lord, yet this is ok?
 
I'm O.K. recognizing they are special.
And a gift from God.
It's quite a stretch to claim that they will become lazy or forget God.
Especially when they are reminded of Him on that day.
With such a simple statement as, "we thank the Lord Jesus for you!"
And they will understand, and reply - "and I thank Jesus for you....Mom and Dad!"
That's the way it truly happens.
To say recognizing birthdays will breed selfishness is wrong.
Can you (even you), have more than one thought in a day?
Will aprayer settle in before they eat the pre-party dinner?
I have more faith in children and parents than that.

Yet the thought that parents would teach about Christ on Christmas and explain that Santa is just fun for small children never entered your mind? o.O Obviously not THAT much faith in children and parents. Btw- the Lord said not to have faith in anything except him..... Or did I read the Bible wrong?It's highly possible that I'm wrong about the Lord saying not to have faith in anything except him...

Your original thought was that children who pretend was the same as an adult telling them Santa Claus was real.
In fact your original question was "would they go to hell" for it?
Now you try to turn your argument around as a 'holier than thou' speech.
There is a lot of this..........illogical posts.

Lol,never said I was holier than thou..... never said that, read any other post I've ever done on here and you'd know what my views are of myself. I know everyone is better than me, I know the Lord hates me. I know I'm scum, so say what you want. But NEVER assume I'm saying "I'm holier than thou".

Secondly- The question is still valid.Everyone is going to Hell for their sins, there is no possible way to repent for all sins. The scripture says all sins are equal to the Lord and we can not go through the day without sinning at least once. Do you wear clothes? That's a sin. No fabric of mixed fibers can be worn. Yes is still applies. Christ did not change the OT, meaning it's still relevant.

So do children go to hell for playing? If parents go to hell for telling about Santa as you mentioned, then I guess the answer is "yes". Both are lies, and lies are the same to God.... so children go to Hell for playing.... Why not make playing illegal then and throw children in juvy if they do it? Wouldn't this help them stop?

ok... don't know the whole Santa argument.. have a feeling I probably won't agree with Rick on that point.

however there are more serious issues I would like to comment on in this post then playing pretend or Santa claus or mixing fabrics.

1. why do you think God hates you? Why do you call yourself scum?

I've always heard God call people His beloved children.

2. you seem to be stuck on the Old testament laws of clothes, etc. You do know what the New covenant means right? the difference between the Old covenant and what Jesus replaced with the New covenant with His blood and writing of God's laws in the hearts and minds of His people. How the letter kills but the Spirit gives life?

3. neither children or parents will go to hell for either PLAYING OR SANTA STORIES. they both seem kind of extreme.

4. every day is a special day because God has given it to us. birthdays change as kids get older and they learn to value time spent together instead of just material things.

Raise your children in the way of the Lord and they will not depart from it when they are older ..

There is a lot of extremism and legalism here. We forget that God is 100% grace an simultaneously 100% judgement. God created us each special. There is nothing sacriligious about celebrating a birthday. You are celebrating a life that God created. I haven't ever been to a birthday party at least for a child where God was banned.
I do not believe you will screw up your children for telling them to believe in Santa. Now is it the best option? No, but I think God has bigger fish to fry that jolly old Saint Nick. My mother never taught me to believe in Santa, but my brother and I chose to believe in him ourselves. It didn't screw me up. My theology is not forever mistaken. My soul is not eternally marred.

How is that lying? Or do you not know what the word "pretend" means?

People don't go to hell for this sin or that sin. People go to hell for rejecting Jesus and the forgiveness He offers. And come judgment day, everyone will have a laundry list of sins that they've committed, it's not like lying to your kids about santa would be the only sin you've ever committed.

So if I "pretend" I don't believe in God, then it's ok? Isn't that still a lie? If I tell the police, "Oh, I was just pretending that I was a robber and tied up this family as part of my game" does that make it ok?

do you really believe in God and why are you pretending not to if you do?

If you don't really believe in God then it would not be pretending, it would be simply stating your beliefs.

If you tell the police something that is a lie then its a lie. just because you use the word "pretend" doesn't make it the same thing.

IF kids want to tie each other up in a game of pretend cops and robbers then that is totally different then if someone forces another person against their will to be tied up. this concept applies to both kids and adults.

kids tying other little kids up against their will would be wrong and bullying.

of course you know that.

So are you "pretending" to ask questions now for a certain reason?
