Isiah 46;10,,,,"declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, my counsel shall stand, and i will do all my pleasure.",,,,,,now if the lord has told you from the beginning "all the end",,,or from ancient the thing not yet done.Is there a prophet that say's a new thing?or does every prophet agree with the word of god and tell you the thing noted in the scripture?that is god has told you he from the beginning told you the end.a prophet now you see will tell you the thing that god said,,,,,,,,,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’ g

Acts 7:49
‘Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the LORD, Or what is the place of My rest?

Isaiah 66:1
Thus says the LORD: “Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?
Luke 10:18
And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Revelation 12
9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

All of the above has already happened, but I wonder how many will say its for the future?

no one's touched this, that 'in the last days,' which refers to when? But, when this is, and, it certainly does not refer to the completion of the canon of Scripture (bible), is when 'sons and daughters will prophesy,' and when God will pour out His Spirit on mankind, too.
hi green:)

'the last days' overwhelmingly means the BEGINNING of the last days right to the Second Advent - the church age, if you will).....the 'past days' being the Mosaic system, more broadly everything from before Jesus (BC/AD) (the closing out of what had come before Jesus by His overshadowing or super brightening everything that had come before) - the coming of Jesus marked the end of 'the times past', and marked the beginning of 'the last days'....

Hebrews 1
1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe...

the writer of Hebrews said 'in these last days', and included himself in those last days (we're in these last days also: same era)....the days since Jesus arrived.

"last days": prophesied in Joel, c. 835 BC < "in the past, God speaking to the forefathers through the prophets, like Joel"

Joel 2
The LORD Will Pour Out His Spirit
28 d “And it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
29 Even on the male and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

30“And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. 31The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls.

Joel 2:28
"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. (NIV)

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. (ESV)

Acts 2
Peter’s Sermon at Pentecost
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b 16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh
,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servantsc and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

the last days certainly did include the completion of scripture.

Hebrews 1
1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe...

that book was written c. 68AD, very shortly after Jesus walked the earth - like about 35 years after (give or take).
and he said 'in these last days.

it was written AFTER Pentecost. which was also, according to Joel and Peter in 'the last days'.
peter said Pentecost was exactly what Joel (and other prophets) had foretold.
and it happened in the beginning of the 'last days'.

But, when this is, and, it certainly does not refer to the completion of the canon of Scripture (bible), is when 'sons and daughters will prophesy,' and when God will pour out His Spirit on mankind, too.
He did pour out His Spirit on "all mankind", green.

Acts 2
The Coming of the Holy Spirit

1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and resteda on each one of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” 12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven

we know the USA and Canada were not in actuality physically in person represented there. our nations didn't exist yet.

but Holy Spirit clearly had it recorded as from every nation under heaven.

"all flesh" means the same as "every nation under heaven".
Pentecost happened at Jerusalem, not even a few miles away in Lebanon or over in Rome. Just at Jerusalem.
all flesh, from every nation under heaven means the Jews. that's to whom the miracle of Pentecost was promised, and upon whom it fell.

God is still speaking to Israel in Joel, and in Acts:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh
,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

that blessing opened up salvation to all the world.
that was a long time ago.

it's still as Miraculous as it ever was, we still read about it in awe and wonder, and we are still blessed (Praise be to God for the Good News) by the Gospel which has gone forth into literally all the world, meaning the entire planet....by the Gospel preached globally.

since we have all we need in the God breathed scriptures, and since we have the Comforter Who seals each of us until the redemption of our bodies, we have everything we need.

don't we?:)

I have everything I need, all in !
Like Joseph, pit or palace, I'm going forth in Him, like shadrach, meshach, and, abednago, they were all in, no matter what happened in that furnace, 'wait, before we enter,'one said, in so many words. 'We are going to worship God no matter, what happens in there?'

Right, He is all I need, but, been there, been them, that needed more, needed to dig into the apologetics of Josh McDowell, to be all in, I mean, I believed, but 'my Lord, show yourself real.' Positive to report, not hy any great healing or tobgues speaking, but, through a a car crash, God, indeed, was trying to tell me something: 'I am a jealous God!'

But, yeah, that showed me I was headed down the wrong 'road,' God does stuff like that in our life, maybe no miracles thar are concrete God, ohzone, but, as I said, as Scripture says, BEST we can plant/water, lahour with Him without needing to be personally 'poked' by Him.

So, fabulous, ohzone, you believe in God, no signs, wonders, miracles, healings whatsoever seen of substance ! Awesome, that is best, Jesus told us, after having the doubting Thomas put his hand in Jesus' body. 'In,' get it :)

Green,

zone said it quite well. Let me just add to it a bit:

The 'last days' are ALL of the days between the ascension of Christ and the return of Christ.

The 'children' in question are not of the apostles, but rather - from the perspective of Joel's prophecy (which is only being 'repeated' in Acts 2:17-21).

Acts 2:17-18 is talking about the Day of Pentecost - of which, he attests to directly (Acts 2:16).

Acts 2:19-20 is talking about something yet future to us.

Notice the end of verse 20: "before that great and notable day of the Lord come"

Do you see how that, the 'last days' are "spread out" over a longer period of time? And that, this prophecy (of Joel) is not a specific pin-point-in-time 'event'?

:)

So you're saying 'the last days' already came? The moon turned to blood already? Sons and daughters have prophesied by His power poured out over them?

Not sure what you're saying.

Yes, 'apostles' children' part makes sense.

Thanks, g.r.a, Your work for Him is good.

.... Greenie you know that the moon turns blood red during a full lunar eclipse right?

the last days are here now and have been since Jesus came the first time.

and for son and daughters prophesies through the power of the Holy Spirit. well Peter tells us it happened in Acts 2

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’[b]

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—
this stuff was happening or already happened as Peter spoke in Acts 2.

just read the Gospel accounts:

Luke 23:45
Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

Yes, 'the last days' speak of the time loooooong aftercChrist.

Read the context of Acts 2, it is speaking of the time long past Jesus' time on earth and after and the Joel prophet speaks much more in depth ,cas the moon turning to blood (nice pic, anariel) is a easy understanding but the other Joelian prophecies are not, they are still to come....in the last days, which, GASP!, WE truly, I believe, with rhe Israel situation especially ARE living in the last days before Jesus comes again.

Thinking 'the last days' are time immediate following Jesus death in 33 A.D. and the subsequent Holy Spirit gifts and 70 A.D. deztruction, and, even the temple veil splitting does not speak with the all-consuming power of tye last days as per described in zone's above post, pulling Joel's prophecy.

I can post it easy enough, now, look at ALL the unspeakable visions that happen 'in Joel's prophecy of 'in the last days.'

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.
Sorry, but the 'sun turning to darkness' is a lot more than a lunar ecliose, taking the verse around it,csmoking and bloodung and firing it explicitly descript .

How about "On Fire" by Van Halen?
Is that addressing the Holy Spirit fire?
And just what IS written on subways and tenement halls?
Many obscenities and no prophecy.
So be careful how wide you choose to read the truth.
There is something known as false prophecy too.

Yes, I have, g.r.a., it speaks of continuation , in the last days, which are not here yet... Thus, it nullifies the idea of 'the perfect comes' being the canon of Scripture completed, because prophesying goes on until the SUN becomes dark, and, g.r.a., this is not some temporary thing, GREAT TRIBULATION will follow, the moon turning to BLOOD is not a lunar eclipse, why so, what's so special about that great thing coming, cwe have lunar eclipses all.the time all over the world NOW.

SO, the part that geys me is the 'vapor, smoke, fire,' that's real ujimaginable, as is ALL the prophesying by sons AND DAUGHTERS, as the Spirit is poured on all.

Just says something different to me: continuation . :)

I will put down Acts 2 verses and highlight words that show me it is 'continuation, meaning NONE of the stuff has happened yet, it is 'to be continued,' and, in the meantime the spirutual gifts go on ALIVE and (very) well.

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh(THESE LAST DAYS are NOT Hebrew reference, don't be fooled :( , this 'last days' is not 'end times,' it's the END of time, cue in to the words, 'ALL FLESH,' it's not so SOON happening all the great PROPHESYING) ; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness (this will be a catastrophic event, ohzone, anariel, not some midnight sideshow on people's porches to watch. DEATHLY, OMINOUS SIGN, TO CHOOSE Him, one last chance, IF you have not :)!!! ) , And the moon into blood (MORE DEATHly sign, #2, there's still time, the Son's NOT come, yet :) !!!) , Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
I'm saying it is prophesying of things to come, ohzone, way beyond the Pentecost time. That is correct, NONE of the GREAT END TIMES SIGNS AND WONDERS HAVE HAPPENED . Sure enough for ya :)

The whole of Acts 2 speaks of continuation of ONE event to come, in catastrophic detail, not two events. This is what was prophesied.
Signs and wonders happened in Apostles' gifts time, but TAME by comparison to things.to come ! No acts in this imperfect time, like the perfect time to come: moon to blood, and, sun becoming darkness, vapor, fire, blood,' described, and, thus, since the whole of Acts 2: 16-21 is CONITNUATION, then the (sons and daughters prophesying, etc.) Has NOT happened yet either.

The verses continuum is 'continuation. Read them yourselves, ohzone, the spoken of event is prophesied of NOT right after Jesus' died to already be 'the last days,' NO!

The apostles are told by Peter of what the apostle Joel said would be coming BEFORE Jesus comes again.

Did the aposyles think Jesus was coming again so soon? No. By virtue of Peter saying, 'your sons and daughters will prophesy' is saying that it will be time down the line that Jesus comes again, a long time down the line. These apostles are 'sent by God,' you don't think they know this truth ? Yes, truth from the Holy Spirit revealed. God is not teasing the apostles to show them signs of end times almost for them here IF they start converting people to Christ they will see Jesus come again. No.

It's late and the Lord leads, I've just looked at this :)

1 Cor 1: Verse 2

Rinse and repeat.

I would rather keep reading:
1 Corinthians 1:1-8

King James Version (KJV)

1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; - waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless - in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you see any continuity of thought there?

Does the term in I Cor.1:2 - "with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours", ring any bells?

Just checking.

ring any bells?
"with all that in every place", "both theirs and ours" being the means of calling upon Jesus, not a group of people that call upon Jesus, if that's what you mean.

God has chosen things that the world despises, everything from "earth" on one side, to "sea" on the other, as His own tools of irony. And His right foot is on the sea. Oops! :p

The prophecy in Revelation about the angel standing in the sea AND on the land is of utmost spiritual significance.
No "oops" about it.

The Holy Spirit wrote through Paul the Apostle, knowing objections would arise.
See how deftly, and succinctly He has stated clear revelation?
So clear and obvious that no discerning reader could mistake it.
Reread what Paul said (under inspiration) to the church at Corinth. - (Just read the first eight verses)
Knowing that no prophecy-(which all the new testament IS -written in Jesus' blood ), is given to private interpretation.
