I don't have any. I'm certainly not against anyone who does; however, because it's our choice. I thought they seemed cool for a while, and thought about getting one. I had several reservations, though:
What does the Bible/God say about tattoos?
What do I really like enough (image or word-wise) that I'd want to make a permanent part of my body? (still leaves mark/scar when removed)
What would this say about me to others?
After having the opportunity to research the above and more, I decided not to get inked. I felt, at least for me, it was the better choice. Still not against them, but not necessarily for them either. It's sort of one of those points Paul spoke of in relation to:
1 Corinthians 6:12
Or
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Btw, that OT passage involving tats I found can be found here:
Leviticus 19:28 NIV -
Now, before you tear into me about culture vs spiritual truth in scripture, the other laws like not wearing mixed clothing, or the argument of NT vs OT, hear me out. I believe in both the New and Old Testament in conjunction, and though I do wear clothing of two kinds of material (and may even be sinning for doing so), I do acknowledge and believe in what the congruency and transcendence of Scripture states by and large. Study, context, interpretation(as in wisdom/understanding) are all needed, and I do try to seek them.
