No, I've heard of the book, read it even, but in Australia we pronounce Nautilus correctly. :p (Nought, not Not).
Ha, that just tickled my funny bone for some reason. :D

Nautilus - I'm glad I know how to pronounce your username now. How do you mean a bad habit/curse on second dates? They don't go as well or you don't feel as comfortable?

Rachelsedge: what do you ultimately want to do for a living?
Ultimately I want to be a wife and a mother, preferably stay at home mother for at least a little while (I know it sounds sappy but that's what I want), but I also dream of going back to South Dakota and working with the Lakota children like I did last summer. :)

Has anyone in the whole of human history ever chosen to wear a dress with sleeves like giant marshmallows? Or is this the kind of thing you stick your bridesmaids with so that they have no chance of looking better than you?
I did one time but the Ghostbusters came after me so I told myself "Never again!"

Whoops, I'm sorry, I totally missed this. 0.o

Yes, I did write that. Of all the poems I've been willing to post online, it was my favorite. :)

I love it! You should definately keep writing! It was incredibly meaningful and holds so much truth! :) You should share more as you felt lead to :)

I've always wanted to ask.............. Chrissy77 the following question!!!

What do you find more attractive about me? My thick, flowing hair that resembles the spectacular mane of a mighty and proud lion, or my deep emerald green eyes, who's greenness is equaled only by that of the resplendent conifer trees in the extravagant Swiss Alps???

Actually, I think everyone on CC wants to know your answer, Chrissy. We are waiting!!!

Romans 8:28 & 29

So often we use those two verses to attempt to comfort those who have had bad things happen to them, but never consider the person who has done bad things to others. If life has taught me one thing is that God can truly take our worst sins and cause good to come out of those events in the long term if we choose to allow Him to. No event or person is unredeemable in God's economy.

I'm a very private person. Not an introvert, I just keep everyone at a certain distance personally. I mean I have my one best friend but even then I dont share everything. Its just not something Ive ever been comfortable with. So as dates progress you are expected to be more and more open with people, and thats just not me. Just a thing I guess even though I love going out and meeting new people and socializing its just different.

I would tend to think she'd pick your eyes, as though you do indeed have a lion's mane, it's not generally considered attractive in human circles to brag about one's back hair.

I made the I've always wanted to ask thread!!??!! 0_0 ...so someone does care!! YvY (<---crying smiley face)

It's been great, and I'm fairly regularly involved in the lives of about a dozen youth from 5th - 12th grade! That said, I do not (nor have before) felt called into youth ministry (specifically). My calling is actually to be an Ordained Elder in the Methodist church (senior pastor).

The youth position was God's provision (hopefully not just for me..^^), and a good step in my ministry-life journey. I'll continue this semester (or possibly full year depending), then go into seminary and student pastoring as my next step. Thank you for asking!

Snacker's Mom: How are you always so awesome?! (just curious...)
Lol, of course we care, Rhyme&Reece'n! That's really neat about the ministry God has placed you in :) Far be it from me to imply that you may have your callings mixed up (perhaps this youth position is only for a time), but I can imagine that you make a great youth pastor. Not everyone is cut out to help kiddos make the tumultuous leap from childhood to adult, but you strike me as someone who could help them navigate the unfamiliar territory with patience, grace, understanding, and Godly encouragement. May He bless your endeavors! :)

As for awesomeness....*looks around for the awesome person*.....sorry, wrong number. ;) I will say that I believe that the beginning of awesomeness is the realization that only God is truly awesome.....but He's more than willing to let us borrow some of HIS awesomeness. So, when it comes to borrowing God's awesomeness, we should all learn to be total mooches. ;)

Oh, and dogs are ok, but I'm a cat person. My little kitteh is pushing 14 years old, sweet as sugar and tough as nails. :)

I love smiling and things that make me smile :) With God by our side all the time, through everything, it's hard for me not smile. I thought it would be a great reminder for myself and others :)

Snackersmom: I read your earlier post about your name and it actually surprised me. You aren't a mom?
Your screen-name IS a great reminder! It always makes me smile :).

As for me being a real mom.......heh. Not technically, although a few of the teenagers I keep up with on a regular basis call me "Mom", which makes me smile. I've always liked kids and had hoped to have my own someday, but that hasn't been part of God's plan, and I'm ok with it......even thankful! He knows what He's doing. ;)

Snackersmom -I'm glad you made this thread. I tend to ask a lot of questions, but often it just makes me feel nosy. :p I creeped on your profile and it says you're a student? What are you studying?
I'm glad I made the thread, too! I really enjoyed the one Julianna made a year ago, so I figured it was time for round 2 ;).

I was a part-time student when I joined the site, but I haven't had much time for classes lately. I'm almost through with an associate's degree in horticulture (plant studies), with emphasis on landscape and floral design. I've also built up some credits toward a degree in fine art, but that has been put on hold as well. I do hope to finish both degrees some day, Lord willing :).

Yes! Help me yell at him! He'll have post more just to shut us up!! Well, that, or we could get together and do some cookie-baking.....he DID say that would work......

NiceguyJ: What kind of cookies do you want, and just how do you define "lots and lots"? Can we pre-negotiate a number of cookies per additional post?

Chrissy: Name 4 things you want to do before you turn 40, and cost is no object, because Zaoman's paying for it.

Zaoman: Have you always been this generous? And how long have you had feelings for S4T?

S4T: Do you really think it's right for you to string Zaoman along like that? Give the poor guy a straight-up yes or no, none of this "someday" stuff!

Hellooo: I always enjoy reading your posts, they always come across as very rational, yet without taking spirituality out of the equation. Have you always been that way? And, is it a conscious decision for you to balance reason with spirituality, or does it just come naturally? Sorry if that's too personal, I'm just intrigued by the neat way you see things. :)

WWJDkilden: I've seen you a lot in other areas of the site, giving encouragement and good advice :). Do you have any plans to go into ministry, or are you already? And, if not, what is your dream job?

Tintin: Welcome to the site! :) You seem to have jumped in with both feet, mixing it up in bible-discussion and all :D. Do you always find it easy to adapt to new situations quickly?

I'm not in any kind of ministry no, my self esteem is too low to talk to strangers IRL, which would make it quite difficult. I wish I was better at talking to people, it just comes much easier online

My dream job... hmmmm..... Well, I like feeling useful, like knowing that what I do make a difference (which it sure doesn't at the moment). Have you ever read The catcher in the rye? For some reason I felt very much like the main character there when I was reading the book. ... but for a real job I guess what I would enjoy the most would be something that meant dealing with children or animals, spending much time outdoors. Not sure exactly what, I can't seem to grow up! :D

You mean - you tried to send yourself a ''friend request''...?

Would you have accepted or rejected it?

:D

.
I would have rejected it, lol. I have no reason to be on my own friends list, but of course I had to see if it was possible.

Random questions all around!

Sanglina: What's your very favorite thing to eat?

GRA: How would you immobilize a zombie if you only had a bug zapper and a car antenna?

ZeroT: What's your favorite YouTube video of all time?

Asifinpassing: Do you ever fly kites?

Keep_on_smiling: Do you prefer to wear gold or silver jewelry?

Jullianna: You mentioned your house being broken into in another thread. How did that end up? Did they catch the perp(s)?

Snackersmom: If you could choose to either fly or hear people's thoughts, which would it be?

I'm not sure what you mean by generous, but my feelings have been suppressed for some time.

epic fail...EPIC fail.
