It's ironic but I've always been more fascinated with the ocean than deep space--probably because I LOVE aquatic animals and since we haven't discovered any solid species in space yet, I often see it as a blank void.

Now when it comes to TV and movies, ironically, deep space wins hands down. I never even watched... was it, "Sea Quest?" Though I thought it was an interesting concept...

PopClick--Have you always been so amazingly compassionate and insightful or was it something God taught you through time and experience?

I'm not sure what you mean by generous, but my feelings have been suppressed for some time.
By generous, I was referring to the fact that you so kindly offered to pay for Chrissy to fulfill her dreams before turning 40:

Chrissy: Name 4 things you want to do before you turn 40, and cost is no object, because Zaoman's paying for it.

Zaoman: Have you always been this generous? And how long have you had feelings for S4T?
As for S4T....I'm so sorry :(. You'll find somebody else, though. It's best to find out now while there's still time to move on.

Snackersmom: If you could choose to either fly or hear people's thoughts, which would it be?
I would choose to be a fly which would tear heople's pots.

Seriously, good question......mind = blown. My first thought was the flying, very handy and fun. Then I remembered that heights make me dizzy, and I figured that hearing thoughts might be handy, too.......and also maybe disturbing and unfair, since our thoughts are between us and God; not us, God, and some crazy girl who wanted to be nosy. So, I'll take the flying, I guess I'll just have to get used to the heights. Random fact: I love birds.

Wwjd_kilden: No idea why such a smart lady like you would have low self-esteem, but life certainly has a way of kicking us while we're down, doesn't it? No matter what you've been through, it's very clear to me that you're a caring and astute person, and I'm sure that God has ways that He wants to use you. I haven't read "Catcher In The Rye", but I can totally sympathize with wanting to feel useful......if this helps at all, I know that God has used you here on this site. Chin up, Missy! You're a cool gal ;). And, if you ever want a job in the U.S. that involves children, animals, and lots of outdoor time......I'll hire you if I have an opening for you! ♥

Favorite place to be: Wherever God wants me to be, doing whatever He wants me to do (but I must say that rowing on the pond or hiking in the woods are tops in my book). As for remembering things I needed to do right before falling asleep...not quite. I only remember them after getting a few hours of sleep and waking up in a panic. ;)

I would have rejected it, lol. I have no reason to be on my own friends list, but of course I had to see if it was possible.

Random questions all around!

Sanglina: What's your very favorite thing to eat?

GRA: How would you immobilize a zombie if you only had a bug zapper and a car antenna?

ZeroT: What's your favorite YouTube video of all time?

Asifinpassing: Do you ever fly kites?

Keep_on_smiling: Do you prefer to wear gold or silver jewelry?

Jullianna: You mentioned your house being broken into in another thread. How did that end up? Did they catch the perp(s)?

Snackersmom: If you could choose to either fly or hear people's thoughts, which would it be?
I wear all sorts of jewlery, but I prefer silver over Gold :)

Snakersmom: I'm glad you see it as a reminder :) I think the name is certainly fitting for you; your posts are often full of Godly advice and wisdom.

Meggars: In another post you mentioned working in a Christian bookstore, I'm kinda jealous ;) Do you find yourself reading often? Also you mentioned piano lessons, I'm praying for time because I'd love to learn to play. Do you think people pick it up easily enough?

Ritter: You strike me as someone who must know multiple languages, do you?

We simultaneous- posted :p

Thanks :)
I'm not in any kind of ministry no, my self esteem is too low to talk to strangers IRL, which would make it quite difficult. I wish I was better at talking to people, it just comes much easier online

My dream job... hmmmm..... Well, I like feeling useful, like knowing that what I do make a difference (which it sure doesn't at the moment). Have you ever read The catcher in the rye? For some reason I felt very much like the main character there when I was reading the book. ... but for a real job I guess what I would enjoy the most would be something that meant dealing with children or animals, spending much time outdoors. Not sure exactly what, I can't seem to grow up! :D
Why is your self esteem loooowwww? :(

Tintin: Welcome to the site! :) You seem to have jumped in with both feet, mixing it up in bible-discussion and all :D. Do you always find it easy to adapt to new situations quickly?

Snackersmom, thank you! Yes, I have. I love discussion forums. I love discussing the Christian faith and life in general. No, I don't easily adapt to new situations quickly but I'm comfortable with the discussion forum format. I need to balance my contributions to the serious threads with more humorous thread, as I seem to be baited by KJV-Onlyists, many of whom don't talk to you but at you (also the great slabs of Bible verses often contribute little). So I'm getting used to some of the craziness but I'm enjoying myself. Thanks for asking!

Indeed!

Strange, too!  :p

"What? No zombie-zapper?? How do you expect me to immobilize a zombie without a zombie-zapper?!?!?" :D

I was a newlywed and my husband was working nights. In the very early morning hours I heard the backdoor knob begin to rattle (in the kitchen). I listened for awhile, hoping whoever it was would give up and go away. They didn't. I went to my husband's desk and got his handgun out of the drawer. My hands were shaking so badly that I had difficulty unsnapping the holster. I remember praying, "Please God, I don't want to have to shoot someone." I walked to the kitchen doorway and peeked in. I could see the doorknob moving. In my mind, God very calmly told me to turn on the light and tell them something...to make it THEIR choice, not mine. I reached around the corner, flipped on the light and yelled very loudly, "If you come through that door, I will shoot you." The doorknob stopped rattling and I heard nothing for a few seconds. Then I heard them fall over the lawn chair running away from the patio. I couldn't move for a few seconds. I went to the back door and looked out the window. I saw the lights of a car driving away on the road behind my house, but I couldn't tell who it was. I've always thought it was a guy in one of my college classes who'd been following me around, but I never found out for sure. This situation was the deciding factoring in becoming a cop. I never wanted to feel that helpless again and I wanted to protect others as well.

Everyone:
-What is your favorite place to be, and why?

Possibly Halls Gap in the Grampians, Victoria (Austrlia) or a similar place with babbling brooks. Nothing too cold or warm. I just find that sort of forest/bush environment very soothing to the soul.

The Black Hills of South Dakota, specifically, but any mountainous or foresty area and even better if it has some type of water (I agree, babbling brooks are the best!).

These two pictures are ones that I took. The first picture is in the Black Hills. The second picture is another place in the Black Hills called "Spearfish Canyon". Absolutely gorgeous. My soul was so refreshed and I felt that I couldn't soak it in enough!

Watching lightning in the distance across a lake. Happens in rare instances but when it does, there is a certain danger and beauty to it. Also (not when there is lightning lol), swimming in a lake at 3am when you can't tell whats sky and whats water but WOW, so many stars!

NiceguyJ: I have to agree with what has been said. Your posts are an inspiration and I wish you would post more.
Thanks, Chrissy. :) I must say, I think you make some very good posts as well.

Yes! Help me yell at him! He'll have post more just to shut us up!! Well, that, or we could get together and do some cookie-baking.....he DID say that would work......

NiceguyJ: What kind of cookies do you want, and just how do you define "lots and lots"? Can we pre-negotiate a number of cookies per additional post?
I tend to avoid people that yell, so that wouldn't work. :p
Haha. I hadn't really thought about it. I'm not too picky when it comes to cookies.....If that plan worked, I might end up getting sick of cookies...Is that possible? Hmm..

Rachel, those pictures are awesome..especially the second one. Wow. Amazing place.

Oh yes, lightning! I've watched a lightning storm in the Badlands of South Dakota (click for picture of Bandlands that I did not take). No street lights around, no house lights, just pitch black. It was incredible. Though I have to ask, you went swimming in a lake at 3 AM? You are so brave. I love swimming but the thought of swimming at night in dark water... :O

arwen83 - I'm assuming you love LOTR, who is your favorite character?

Tintin - I Googled pictures of Halls Gap, Australia. Wow! God's creation blows me away. What part of Australia do you live in, and are the spiders really as big as I've heard? (I've heard they're huge) The hunstman, for one...

Ugly - Why did you pick that as your username?

Rachel, I live in Adelaide, South Australia. Spiders are huge here. Thankfully, the more commonly-found spiders are large but harmless to humans (the Huntsmen included). Red-backs and the like are common and very poisonous, although not that big. We have many species of spiders and snakes here and most of them seem to be deadly. I love Australia but much of the wildlife isn't forgiving.

Romans 8:28 & 29

So often we use those two verses to attempt to comfort those who have had bad things happen to them, but never consider the person who has done bad things to others. If life has taught me one thing is that God can truly take our worst sins and cause good to come out of those events in the long term if we choose to allow Him to. No event or person is unredeemable in God's economy.
This is wonderful wisdom and just what I specifically needed to hear.

Well, I am totally for baking cookies but I have your back for the pestering too!

What do I want to do by 40?

Maybe today isn't the day to answer this, but as of right now the only thing I want
is clarification in my life and God to take care of some confusing situations in my life.

Yeah, a part of my was terrified, images of various horror movies were playing through my mind, but I felt safe with the people I was with and we didn't go too far out.

arwen83 - I'm assuming you love LOTR, who is your favorite character?

I can't say I have just one....
Sam, I love for his loyalty to his friendship, you really can't ask for a better friend than what he did for frodo.
Aragorn, for his soft heart, Godly strength, and courage. I'm not completely sure why but, in a way he reminds me of Jesus (return of the king).
Gandalf, for his wisdom and guidance, fighting evil, sense of humor and power. In a way he reminds me of God (must be the beard- apparently God has one if you didn't know :p)
Arwen, for standing by the one that she loves, sacrificing the immortal for him, she has true inner beauty; a softness, and she has neat powers and can speak elvish too
Faramir, for denying the temptation and not taking the ring, even though it would make his father finally see worth in him as a son; a feeling that he longed for.
Treebeard, for being Treebeard lol

Why, yes, I do! Actually, I have not flown a kite since high school...so perhaps I should revisit the world or aerodynamics and skysailing!
