When did you discover your denomination of Christianity was the only right one

If people could share their stories and testimonies that would be great. Since there are so many types and denominations of Christianity out there and so many people here are super confident they have got it right, maybe you can help out the rest of us who may struggle to think we are 100% correct.

When did you realise that your Christian Path was the 100% correct one and all others were false?

What Theology, reasoning or Bible verse helped you to reach this confidence?

I'm mainly looking for people who came to the conclusions themselves through examining many things. Not people who were just born into their denomination or do whatever their Pastor/Priest told you.

Mainly because I want to know the reasoning, or faith experience or what have you.

Why are you right?

David, I accepted christ in the summer in 2012. Now I had nobody to teach me how to be a christian, thebible helped but it was mostly me and god spending time together. He taught me everything i know, no church was able to help me. No person was able to teach me what he taught me. Somewhere along the road of my faith I had a supernatural experience that changed my faith forever. I had actually had my spirit broken and was literally in the father arms. As i was in his arms he revealed to me who he really is, and our hearts connected. His love was so overwhelming that i begged him to kill me so i may be in his arms forever but he said for me to be strong for him then suddenly my strength in my body returned. I know what i believe because it was god himself who taught me. His true nature and who is really is- is a loving, caring and tender father whose love for us goes beyond the word love.

His kindness is meant to lead us to repentance unto salvation through Christ Jesus
I do not claim any denomination or non denomination or sect of any cult kind whether church a building a place to gather or fellowship of any kind. I claim a personal relationship with the Father of Christ there is where I have fellowship with the Saints past and present in the Spirit of God the Holy Ghost the coupler unto this citizenship of heaven. Godthe creatorof all is the one to be a friend of by belief being the key to open the door to the heavens then the love gets shed about in ones heart

Blain, what do you do now? Do you go to a church? or do your own home church thing?

Wow, what do you think really happened to your brother?

Did you always travel your own path with Jesus after that? Were you ever tempted to join a denomination?

Well i do love to go to church, but the one where my heart belongs to is the one i went to is called life church, and i am unable to drive so i cannot get a ride there. So i go to the only church i am able to walk to, its a nice church but is really meant for mature christians. Now what i do everyday is spend every waking hour talking to god- literally nonstop all day. everyday i give up so much time for him. I give up games i give up t.v. just so i can spend time with him and get to know him more. I am so loving my life because i spend it all with him

I can feel him search my heart everyday, and even i can look deep into my heart and all i see is him, everyone of my hearts cravings and deepst desires are all him.

I am a baptist, and baptist dont really hold on to a specific form of religious rite (except baptism and communion), rules, or regulations, whatever the church keeps is what they keep. Not all baptists are the same. Be careful that you dont run into the crazy zealous religious ones that burn you on the stake before you can even open you bible! lolz. We do hold on to the fact that baptism is best submersion instead of sprinkled, only because Jesus did it, John the baptist, and the apostles such as Philip.

My Brother as I grew up being the youngest in my family of five, and John my brother being the oldest grew up trying to please Mom and Dad along with God by what he did. Very much a believer in Christ, and was legalistic to himself as most Christians are I can't do this or that watching every move they make and condemning themselves over what they do or not do. this world has done a greatJob on conviction in and through the law, doling out punishment for every act of disobedience. I tell you the truth under the law there is no MERCY. The Law is the Law and yet it is perfect, just and Holy, but the problem is when it flows through flesh it kills you the person whom is so deaperate to serve God with a pure heart and just can't attain it. My Brother came to the end of the energy of his own flesh and saw that God just love him period. Just like Martin Luther saw, just lilke Saul who became Paul saw, Just like from that day on I saw ans see to this day. Now do not get me wrong I am not promoting sin, I am however promoting new life and this new life is in God through His Son Christ the righteous one, and upon belief one receives the Holy Ghost a new flesh life in him the old flesh life is dead for the new flesh life is the Holy Ghost that has taken over by you asking for this to be, where you no longer live, you hidden in Christ and the Holy Ghost lives through you and you just follow as a vessel thanking and praising his Holy Name
No one is required to do anything when they see the freedom in Christ, all things are permissable but not all things are beneficial. Therefore Brother it is up to you whatever you do, you decide in you what is beneficial or not, when you are free to choose and not under Law that is when one chooses the right thing to do and are led by the Holy Ghost of Promise Look : [SUP]14 [/SUP]I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
As a man thinks in his heart so is he, but I know that all things are today after the cross cleansed clean. Therefore it is what I do with it that makes it unbeneficial or jkeepos it beneficial

As far as what denomination is right..I do not think one particular one has 'it' But having said that..I believe that the emphasis is important.

I was raised Roman Catholic(nothing against those who adhere to this)but they did not give me answers and always assumed God was this cold distant cosmic being. Years later, I had a pentecostal coworker invite me to church, at that time i was not going to church and considered myself an atheist. I gave my heart to Christ. But there was no emphasis there to disciple,it was one of those 'revival' churches where the emphasis is getting people 'on fire' and them sending them off to start these 'fires' elsewhere. I had left that place a few years later and searched from non denominational,four square,pentecostal,baptist,even tried out a presbyterian church but did not agree with their theology.
None of them spoke about living for God. Nobody told me about the emphasis of Holy and right living. No one did until years later, I found out about the Wesleyan Church. I went on my own,no invite..having done my research(I had decided to not seek out a church that teaches reform theology,because i vehemently oppose it) and had found churches that teach it but secretly keep it known from their 'statement of faith'.
The Wesleyan Arminian emphasis has changed my life..
Mainly looking at scripture like in 1 thessalonians,in 1 peter1,and other parts, like even in Collosians3,and other books you can see we are to mortify,put down the old man..the old ways,because now all things are new. We can live this holy life. Now before I get accused of heresy(some here hate holiness theology with a passion and believe repentance is not necessary) Which is also unbiblical..We are to change our lives. Being born again means we died to an old way..so what are we born into?
A new life..a Holy Life,that's enabled by God,through the Holy Spirit.

But that is my 2 cents. Honestly, i sensed a bit of sarcasm in your tone,and did not believe you were sincerely asking but wanting to make a mockery of those who found truth in a denomination. I might be wrong,it is just how it was taken.
The Wesleyans are not the only ones who believe in right living,Holiness theology..
So I will not go there and say only those who attend my type of church got it. Others believe in this emphasis as well.

But is it really the denomination or is it that we can come to the Father through Jesus and we live it out in love? Is the mark of a disciple the denomination or is it the love we have one for another?

I became a Christian and soon after I went off to college. God "randomly" placed me in a dorm room where my only roommate was an on-fire Christian aspiring to be a missionary. He had moved away from home as well and he was looking for a new church. He tried a bunch, settled on one, and I eventually followed him to the church he picked out. I was looking for a church too and I stayed there because I liked it; at first, because the messages really spoke to me, but later because I had great fellowship there (and eventually met my wife there).

I don't think my denomination has everything 100% right, nor do I think I know everything. How could I or they possibly know that, when not even the top Bible scholars in the world can agree on some things? But as long as my church believes that Jesus is the only way to be saved, and there is no other way to salvation but through Christ alone (not through works or some other saint or deity), and there are no extrabiblical rituals, then I am satisfied.

I've been to another church that had the same doctrine as mine except that they also believed that you must be baptized to be saved. Do you have to be baptized to be saved? There are good arguments for and against it, but it's not really a big deal. I've been baptized, so it's not worth fussing over. Both churches agree that you should get baptized, and most importantly, they agree on Christ crucified and raised for our salvation.

There are a lot of evangelical denominations (evangelical means they get 100% of their doctrine from the Bible) but the reason there are so many different ones is because people disagreed on minor, practically insignificant (in the perspective of eternity) doctrinal points. They all agree on who Jesus is. I really love my church, but not because it's XYZ denomination.

Jesus spits on the ground, makes a little mud, puts some in the blind man’s eyes, and tells his friends to take him down to the river and wash. They and the crowd do just that, and when the man washes he is healed.

So off this group goes, preaching ‘spit and washing’.

Another day, Jesus is again walking down the street when a blind man comes to him seeking healing. Jesus tells the man to go to the temple and pay his alms. The man and the crowd around them do, and he is healed.

So off this group goes, preaching ‘alms and giving’.

On still another occasion, a blind man is brought to Jesus wanting to be healed. Jesus asks the man if he believes He can do it, the man says yes, and he is healed.

So off this group goes, preaching ‘faith and belief’.

So now we have three ‘denominations' going at it, arguing over spit and faith and alms and such, totally losing sight of the point that there are many ways sight is restored. And while Jesus stands off to the side asking ‘can’t we all just get along?’

It’s a jigsaw puzzle. No one has the whole picture, but we all have a piece of it. That's why it's important we accept and interact with one another in communities including this one.
