First, I'll bet that sword is super cool. Second, the zombie apocalypse will hopefully be upon us soon! I'm currently taking notes on how to survive while watching The Walking Dead. It's a great docudrama :P
Quite cool, for $100 bucks you get a 4 foot sword with nice handcrafted hilt as well as a sheathe to store it in. I guess those things are pretty popular with kids ,vsame as, I think, Zombie guide.
I saw Return of the living dead when I was 13 and 15-20 minutes it was too scary for me and itvwas a slumber party and I put my head down on kt pillow and went to sleep, about like age 10, i got through half of Jaws and got in the back of mavn pas crew cab and listened but did not watch the rest of the movie. Ans, i thot i loved sharks ! They were so cool in picture books, RoyalAimee :D

Trying to read "All hell let loose" by Max Hastings. Though I don't really have much time for it in between work, hiking in the mountains and exploring various villages with soooo many beautiful old buildings (I love this country!)

The book is about the second world war, and contains the views on people from various nations and in various situations. It gives a very different perspective from that of most other history books.

Amiee, got tickled at the contrast in books. Night and day. I tend to have at leart four books going (not including the daily bible study). I'm reading Love and Honor by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, Chicken Soup for the Single Soul, Love Out Loud by Joyce Myrers, and a Christmas fiction one I can't think of the name right now...it's Ghost of somethin'... somethin'. They are all good!

I absolutely have to read before I go to bed :) This is why I absolutely love my Kindle Fire I read at least 2 to 3 books a week. But I was going to suggest you should totally check out Karen Witemyer she is a Christian Romance author and her books are awesome :)

I've read a Gilbert Morris book before, been awhile, but think was called , 'The Shadow Artist.' It was good , a bit girly but also boyly too, romance and action, equal of both, Morris is quite popular and I highly recommend reading him as an author, not sure who K. Witt is. But, yeah, good.

The Scarlet Letter

Booooooooooooooooooring :D

I try not to read before bed anymore. I'd always tell myself "5 more minutes" or "Just the end of this chapter" and then an hour later...which is alright during the day, but not late at night when you have to get up early the next morning. ;)

One reason I'm so sleep depraved most days.

Has anyone read this?

Christian romance novels? I don't think i could read one of those, probably pretty tame romance I'd think.

Yes some of them are pretty lame :) but I usually give them a trail period of 1/4 to 1/2 of the book and if they haven't become more interesting by then I quit reading but thats what I loved about Karen Witemeyer honestly she is the only christian romance author that I will read. Given all of hers are historical romance but there is usually always danger to watch for and you'll find that each of the couples she writes about are unique. They each struggle with things that we all struggle with daily as far as being Christians and giving things to God. I'm telling you, you should check them out.... :)

Read semi-interesting books. PROBLEM SOLVED :D

If the book is really good, I will finish it in one sitting depending on how big it is.

I've never done that, big novel size anyway, unless, maybe, King's Pet Semetery, in 7th grade, new years eve, I think though I read the first 300 pages of this X-mas gift the week preceding new years then that night read the last 200+ pages from.8 pm to just after midnight.
Hey, quit saying i'm a slow reader :D i was back then, probably slower than most because in.8th grade i wasbdiagnosedvwith dyslexia, and, why i comprehended things weird, like the man the cat that kept going over the 'deadfalls,' which I knew not whatvreally ws, I thnk i thought they were a kind of waterfall back then. LOL. BUT, they were the branches, roots and all, this guy kept climbing over to get to where he was going. Kept me enthralled, that's for certain.

The Shadow Artist is a good Christian romance story and, aside from pre-marital junk and crude humor, I loved Bridesmaids, and, One Fine Day, and, You got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle and, Eat, Pray, Love, and, oh, also, just loved Gone With The Wind, NOT :D . Actually, i might even like it if gave it a chance. But, yeah THIS 'Morris recommendation cones from a guy who'svseen it all, Corina, Corina, and, yeah, i like all genres and have written for avliving (thankfully ,I didn't write on a MyTouch 4G smartphone micro keyboard :D )

so, Gilbert Morrisvwant to get addicted to good 'love,' check'er out below here link :)

House of Winslow series by Gilbert Morris

The Scarlet Letter

The Scarlet Letter is one zombie remix away from being awwwwwwwwwsome.

I want. Especially if there's a Kindle edition.
LOL, I was totally kidding (well, not totally ;) ). Books of american literature lore are great reads. I took an am lit class many years ago in college, and, brit lit, with the latter especially interesting, with hearty reads like Graham Greene's the Heart of the Matter and EM Forster's Howard's End.
I also took a writing class in college that the teacher was not really into liking me, i was pretty over the top in exhuberance and she was more 'steady' approaching life but she had a like for Virginia Wolfe and british women authors so , for an assignment, I wrote about Martha Grimes'novel , a argumentative essay. She loved it and it was halfway thru class and she liked me after that too. Changed my grade from certain 'Doom' to a much more 'Beautiful' grade :)

This is great, young ladies in this age can find God more easily, quicker, sooner--much--by just saying 'no' to soupy, soapy, adulterous, cheap, ungenuine, 'hope' ful, not the kind of Christly love 'liam' (from c.c.) would agree is going to get you true love , i hooe i'm right there thinking, Christ buddy, as sometimes I am just to bold and beautiful with what I say and I just turn othets off. The Lord leads.
:) Howz that for a mouthful, robbinalongbobbinmarrionettegirl ? :D

I like to read A Game Of Thrones when I go to the gym. Each chapter is about 30 minutes long, so I just sit on one of the bikes and read. It makes time pass by a lot faster and I'm not too bored with the gym, when I finish, to move on to other training.

But, E...E, you must promise me, you will try Christian literature, sometime, I read Gilbert Morris' 'The Shadow Artist,' only because someone gave me the book and I wanted to be polite , it was my dad, and, it's got Civil War background, and, plenty of good, tingly, romance in it, I think. I am older, milady, but, trust me, I am a romantic, at heart. :)

And, if reading a Morris' novel just sounds too not your type of book to read on the 'throne,' :D , then, I hear, Katt Wittmeyer writes a mean (that's really nice) Christian novel :)

I want everyone, and, this will probably creep girls out, but, anyway, it's been true of my life, a inspiration to me, for me , an older guy, all miladies, but one of my FAVORITE books and I've read it cover-to-cover, at least a couple times, is Elizabeth Elliott's novel, 'Passioon and Purity.'

Excellent read !! You will love it . You will be blessed by reading Elliott;s book, YOU WILL LAUGH< :LOVE, and, yes, oh, yes, YOU WILL CRY .

Remember, too, mialdies, ALL of ya, (and, this, indirectly applies to my gentdudes :) ) that the Lord leads, and, whatever happens in our life, Christ's blood at the cross covers it, all Christ sees of you is RIGHTEOUSNESS because you've chosen Him, that is, His righteousness has been imputed to you. YOU are FREE ! :) " Follow Me." John 21:22

Whoa, that's amazingly generous. I'll usually give a new book about 5-10 pages, or the first chapter. If it can't captivate me by the end of that first chapter, it probably can't captivate me by the end of the last chapter. Haven't been wrong yet! :)

Well done! I was an English major and had to write many of those analytical essays. I had to write an analysis of King Arthur during my junior year (don't ask how much of it I've retained), and mentioned that he may have been a Christian, based on some of his actions/sayings. The essay was returned with a reminder, in red ink, that King Arthur was "A FICTIONAL CHARACTER." I blushed a bit, scoured the essay for signs that I might've forgotten the good King's fictional-ness, and after finding none, put the essay into a pile with a shrug.

Note: Try not to say "milady" to teenage girls you don't know. That is all.

While we're on the subject of 'thrones' and reading, I have to say I don't understand how and why people read on the toilet. I'm in and out in no time, I have no desire to dwell there any longer than I need to and I wouldn't want my books to ever be unhygienic. If you're in there long enough to read anything, you might need to add more fibre to your diet. Just saying. :P

I'm a big fan of reading before I fall asleep. Do any of y'all do the same? And if so, what are you reading?

I'm currently reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Not kidding....Pilgrim's Progress. The original, Old English version. Oh yes.

I suck at reading. I want to read many books, but other things are just more interesting to me right now. My next book will be "The Divine Conspiracy" by Dallas Willard.
Right now I'm in Leviticus 6, Mark 5, Psalm 39 and Proverbs 10.
