If I knew why, don'tcha think I would've changed it by now? :D
Good answer! :D

I know I'm not called to be single. If I were, I wouldn't have such a deep longing in my heart to be married. So, I attempt to wait patiently...and keep trying!
I believe I can understand - at least somewhat - what you are saying -- but from the male-side equivalent perspective, of course! ;)

Always having had a strong marriage-minded, family-man type of "leaning" - it seems "odd" / "strange" / "weird" not fulfilling that role.

:)

This keeps "coming up" - and it is "new to me" - so, I suppose I will address it...

My initial post in this thread (post #62) was in no way 'targeting' Elizabeth. Just because I made reference to something she said does not mean that my post was a "rebuttal" of it. Please see:

Remember: A quote is a quote is a quote... <<<<< Click on link.

Elizabeth and I "get along just fine" - and always have, as far as I can tell...

I did not regard post #18 as anything other than something someone said that I felt like adding my two cents to...

I did not write [post #62] in anger ( not even in the slightest ) -- nor did it really matter who wrote [post #18].

I simply put forth "my thoughts on the subject"...

Elizabeth:

"No worries, honey..."

:)
The part where I was talking about Elizabeth was directed towards her, so she would know that the rest of my comments were directed towards her. It wasn't referring to you.

so would it be alright to summarize that you did your part in "looking" for a wife while keeping God in the equation vs. just expecting God to do it all for you????

Yup :) I looked I mean you can't expect your damsel or knight to just show up at your door. Make friends talk to strangers be polite be kind and always keep God first. :P

I'm not married cus I hate sharing the bed and my husband would prolly hog the covers and snore.

Hmm - Why bother to answer it? Why do they ask the question? Can someone intelligent, caring, a blaze for Christ, not be married? Probably a good thing for them to be single at the moment to burn bright for Chirst

I'm not married cozI I'm too young to get married. :P

While I usually try to respond with humor "like I know right!?!?" or "cus all the 25 to 32 year old christian men in this city have fallen off the face of this earth" or "the only christian guys around me are 10 to 5 years younger than me...I think they're scared of me! hahaha", to try to hide the sadness; so they won't feel sorry for me. Pity from someone younger than you is always great  But I think I respond that way because I really don't know. I just don't know. I have gone through all the possible reasons in my mind, but in the end, I don't know.

Too high standards?

Yet again I had another person(teen girl) ask, Why aren't you married?

No exaggeration I get asked this question weekly. I'm so tired of this question.
In my mind it seems like people are implying that I appear normal but I must not be
normal because I am single.

Since I'm all out of answers that have any grace or courtesy, I would like to hear yours.

What do you say when people ask this question?

Too high standards?

I am not married because I have a nice car, and something tells me a woman and my car could not co-exist. <--- That and I haven't really met anyone that i'm interested in and a solid Christian.

Too high standards?
