Hey Everyone!
After watching a debate in another thread about whether or not the discussion of chicken lines up with the Word of God, I was wondering what actions/words/phrases/events in your life might SEEM like a sin to you, but really are not.
Here are some examples:
1. I was raised in a conservative, "everything according to the program, stand-up, sit-down, all on cue and only when the cue is given" church. I now love going to contemporary services in other churches... but standing up, swaying to the music, and clapping still sometimes feels... uncomfortable... due to my old church culture.
2. My parents (most especially my Mom) are SUPER CLEAN... and so leaving a dirty dish in the sink feels like a sin (that never happens at my parents' house... honest.)
3. Going to get groceries at 10 PM at night almost feels like a sin because of the many years I had a 9 PM curfew. I still feel a little rebellious going out at night!
4. Living in a household where my parents often got up at 4 and 5 in the morning... sleeping in until 7 AM definitely feels like grounds for judgment!!
5. I suppose eating half a chocolate cake by oneself is technically NOT a sin, but... you know... It sure does feel pretty sinful!
How about all of you? What habits/lifestyle choices/topics almost feel sinful to you because of past regulations... but really are nothing to worry about? (Well... according to some people...)
