My wife had her bachelors in psychology/counselling, and we did a lot together. What you do, is what she called counselling. It's really what works best long term, also. That's speaking from experience.
Thank you Kenisys. I guess I just never thought of it as counselling. I do have a Bachelors but it is not in counselling. I hope the system I am using works. It seems irrepsonsible to me, to quickly just assist people with deliverance and then drop 'em like a hot patato to fend for themselves afterwards...without any idea of where they are or whether or not they can retain their deliverance. Kinda like the house swept clean idea...without a defense. Putting someone in this position without the tools they need to defend their turf, is spiritually irresponsible. And without talking with them first, it is impossible to know what tools they are already using.

The process reminds me of tutoring college students. I had to assess their skill levels and what they were missing before I was able to teach them at their level and challenge them.

Do you help people with deliverance?

When I'm asked. Blessed two houses this past year. Discovered prior sex orgies in the back yard at one. Child abuse by previous tenants in the other. Mostly just spiritual cleanup. This kind's easier, as they are members of the prayer group, or friends of members, so there is plenty of follow-up. The only counslling was teaching the people what it was and how to walk in the security of knowing it is gone.

So when did you tutor? As a college teacher, that pricks my ears.

Keni,

I started answering your latest post question when I set off the resounding nerd alert alarm again! Any further discussion should be emailed privately. Sometimes closet nerdery is best when it gets too specific. Not everyone is interested. :)

Jwmac,

Nice to meet you.

I am not Catholic, I am a Pentecostal, so I am not the best person to ask about what Catholics believe.

If you want to know what Catholics believe, it is best to respectfully ask a Catholic.

If this topic interests you, you should start a thread.

Welcome to CC...I figure I should randomly welcome someone .lol I am pretty bad at the whole welcoming new ppl thing. Doesn't mean I like you any less...just means I am lazy and /or overwhelmed by the amount of new ppl here each day. Feel free to message me any time & tell me to stop slacking off. =)

Hi Sky,

Nice to meet you.

I wont tell you to stop slacking off, but I will suggest you be kinder to yourself.

You know the Bible tells us the power of life and death is in the tongue and you are speaking curses over yourself my friend.

When you say things like: I am: lazy/ overwhelmed/ a slacker, you are agreeing with the enemy about who he says you are, not what God says about you. If you like, I can send you some verses that will remind you who you are in Christ. :)

May God Bless you.
