Is infant baptism biblical?

I dont know for sure...to me it was transitional, just like it was to have signs and tongues when a person received the
gospel/Holyspirit ...petered out and died after it did its job. But what it signified stayed

i'm not asking about baptismal regeneration.
i'm just trying to see if we are to be baptized in water.
so, it's because it's a symbol.
and it signifies something.

that would be Covenant something?
a sign of the New Covenant?

so, that means we are to do it.

like the faith not being a work of righteousness thingee!

true, But I would still say all believers should be baptised. it is a command,, would you not agree?

Here is the prickly pear in water baptism.... Jesus NEVER stopped His disciples to baptize in water, and yt HE NEVER did baptize ANY person.


My question is this.... the pastor or minister or whoever does the baptism in water is NOT FOLLOWING the practise of Jesus. Whose practice are they following, John the baptist, or Philip's or the apostles, BEFORE they were filled with the Holy Spirit? Even the Apostles did not baptize ALL people AFTER they were filled with the Holy Spirit.... PAul even said he was not sent to baptize, and he only baptized a few people with water, but LOTS with Holy Spirit.

I guess my outook on baptism is.... If God gives me a choice of baptism for me and my family... I would say... YOU BATIZE US PLEASE LORD! Amen!

I was water baptized by my parents in a Dutch Reformed Church, as an infant, just for the record, and look what good that has done////// I have the opinion it is with a develish BAPTISM practise... Called the Heidelburg catasism and doctrine... For me PURE evil////

If Baptism is evil; and Jesus commanded his Disciples to baptize (Mat. 28; Mark 16, Acts 1), then is Jesus evil? By logic you are calling the Lord evil by insulting his ordinance or sacrament.

Well like i said i think the water was transitional
but im not against it as a public confession, if thats what it was about im all for it.
but as a means to receive the Holyspirit or salvation no. i mean a biblical no.

because if we leave aside jewish believers for a moment - and thereby dispense with any tradition they may have acted on....Jesus said to baptize the nations.

I'm saying that it was hard for them to break from tradition. John truly baptized in water BUT you shall be baptized with holy spirit. . . the word BUT sets the two in contrast. Water only washes the outside. . .being born again of the Spirit - a new man is created on the inside - When Jesus fulfilled the Law; yep, some things changed. . . .

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. . . .[1 Cor. 12:13]

One Lord, one faith, one baptism. . . [Eph. 4:5]

My brother was sort of a wishywashy christian.
He got water baptised and invited people who came
in from all over the country.

Since then hes been a hot type of believer
i have to wear a firesuit just to go over for a bbq:p
I think the outa the closet was very necessary for him

alright. so you have the apostles baptizing jews and gentiles in water after they should have stopped it...which would have been...after they were baptized in water?

was the water baptism only for the jewish apostles then?

The Apostles went from water to Spirit, with signs till everyone saw the samaritans, then the gentiles
received the Holyspirit. Then the signs dropped off also. Then it just said they were saved?
