I always say I haven't met anyone I'm interested in or I haven't met the one that God made for me. I not one of those girls who always has to be in a relationship and I'm not going to date someone just to be able to say I'm dating someone :/

Too high standards?

It's NOT that I hate this Question I just have no Idea to start!! I am not Married and never had a man!! I simply have no idea! and sometimes Im the one who pushes them away!! I pray for you all

Sister, Get on your knees and seek the Lord. He said He will give you the desire of your heart. If you want a husband then He will give you one. But, don't go looking at the bar. He may not be your choice, but if you have sought God, he will be God's choice for you and cause you to love him so that you can't stand to be away from him. This is how I found my wife and we have been together for 23 years. God bless you

Psalm 37:4- 'Acknowledge The Lord in all your ways and he will give you the desires of your heart'

This verse is not teaching: if you follow God he will give you whatever your heart desires.

That simply does not add up with scripture, Jeremiah 17:9 says 'The heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked above all things'. God is not going to grant us the desires of a 'desperately wicked heart'.

This verse is teaching that if you acknowledge the lords commandments as revealed in scripture he will literally form the desires of your heart. And then, if you are truly living righteously, by God's word, you can do whatever you desire, because your desires will be from God.

Too high standards?

OK so you said too high standards like a broken record about 8 times with nothing else...

if marriage is supposed to last til death, wouldnt high standards be useful in that you want someone you know you can be with constantly? I mean its certainly better then wedding the first person who was interested...

I always dreamed of marriage and family when I was young. But I wanted it to be special so it took a long time to happen. It ended up being nothing like I dreamed, planned or prayed for. But there's one thing that makes me believe it was part of God's plan to bring me closer to him. And that is this. I don't think a single day has gone by since my marriage that I don't say or think, "Lord have mercy on me." :)

I am really hoping what you intended you communicate here is that marriage is much better than you dreamed, planned and prayed for... as opposed to the discouraging trial it kinda sounds like.... because No God/marriage/wife honoring married man would come to the singles forum to tell the singles how bad marriage is... right?

Serious answer:

Well, basically that I haven't found what I feel and understand to be a God-ordained relationship, and thus have not married. I have been in wonderful relationships, and am not a 'soul mate' person. I do, however, believe that there are relationships (and everything else in life) which God does and does not approve of for me. So I'm praying, waiting, and enjoying all single life has to offer until such time. ^^ Thanks for asking!

Comical answer:

"Hey, why are you still single?"

"For their protection... unfortunately my life can sometimes be...wait, we probably shouldn't be having this conversation. I'm sorry. Don't go out the same door you came in."

I saw it on the internet and it reminded me of the dog in your avatar. So there you go. :D

Why I'm not married yet? Well...
A.)I can't handle school and marriage at the same time
B.)I am still young and Mercyswolf respects the fact I can't manage both at once.
C.)I simply just choose to wait because marriage is nothing one can rush into.

Why am I not married? Well, I have seen a lot of marriages, even Christian marriages, that fall apart and don't last. The worst is when you see people married for 30-40 years and then say that they don't love each other anymore and divorce. It's so sad and scary.

Other than that, I am too young and just not ready for such a commitment. Maybe when I'm done with school and have completed some personal goals I can think about that, for now I guess I have to be content as a single girl.

While I respect everyone's opinion, I find it sad when people say..."I want to live my life, and then I'll get married."

Will I be the death of a woman, or she of me? Is marriage just some prison to be trapped by?

I would enjoy sharing my personal hopes, dreams, goals with someone I loved, but that's just me. I honestly don't think age, finances, locations, or any such parts are life are road-blocks to a good relationship, nor the relationship destructive of them.

In fact, I often reflect on the sadness of missing out on the first part of my future spouse's life. I'll have never known them in their youth (and should it not be for a while) or college years. I won't get to see that growth, share in those struggles, celebrate with those joys, or have that love...

Not that I'm moping over it or anything, but I do feel/see it as loss.
