All right, Zero, and you know I have the utmost respect for you.

I apologize to Tommy and everyone else here on the forum I have offended. However, I still stand my ground on everything I've written in this thread. The Pharisses told everyone how wrong they were and they truly believed in what they were doing as well.

I've been going through a lot of situations in life where... You just let it go, and you suppress it, and push it down, and don't say anything, and even when you do, it gets ignored... I'm one of those people that can only fit so much into the closet. Eventually it bursts, and in every direction.

I'm sorry I let my temper get the best of me. I can guarantee, however, it won't be the last time.
You're just a rebel at heart, Kim. :D

Tommy, I have something to say to you, I hope you see this.

You once posted a very real story about who you were, and who God made you. You said you had a big house and a lot of debt, I remember. It was very real, and it showed me you care about helping others. You do come across as judgmental and your posts are hard to follow at times, but I believe you to be sincere. And for that:

I really wish I'd see more posts where you talk about your own experiences, and how you were addicted to self-destructive behaviors, before you repented.

I also wish you wouldn't tell people they are not saved, because that's not our call to make. I know you are going by the scriptures you have read, but remember God looks at the heart. I bet there will be a lot of surprises on that Last Day. That's all, I hope you let me know if you saw this, because it came from the heart. -JIM

I saw that too and how he gave up his beautiful expensive car because it had become an idol to him. That takes real guts, and that is why I truly believe that Tommy is being genuine here even though he may seem like a parrot to some.

Jim, I really liked your post and I hope it's read as well. I agree with you that the posts in which someone talks about who they are and what they've been through in respect to their faith are what really touch my heart as well.

You're just a rebel at heart, Kim. :D
Zero, one of the reasons I was so upset is that some time ago, a young woman posted about a situation in her life... The type of mistake anyone could have made. In fact, I'd made that mistake myself. A few times.

And the answer came with absolutely no regard to her situation, just a Don't you fear God? and Doesn't it bother you that you are in danger of hellfire?

This upset me greatly. I know it's in the past. But when I kept seeing the same answer again and again to a lot of people going through some very difficult situations...

Yes, I'm sorry. But the thing is, I'm not sorry for the way I feel. I'm just sorry I didn't keep it as contained as it's expected to be.

Each of us has our own way of dealing with matters. And our methods of dealing may change depending on how we feel or the circumstances we find ourselves in. It's not always a matter of a right or wrong method. Though some paths are obviously less difficult than others. But sometimes you just have to say, "What the heck" and speak your mind.

Sometimes, I make sure I fast and pray before coming here to CC. That minimizes the possibility I'll snap on someone. :) But I do like to eat every now and then, so that's not foolproof.

Anyway, I think your posting might provide and opportunity for you and Tommy to find some closure on a delicate matter. And I pray that is the case. God Bless!

I appreciate that more than you know, Dashadow!!!! That is truly one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me, especially since you are wiser and more experienced in your Christian walk. Thank you again. I also liked your suggestion about fasting and praying before posting. I honestly do attempt this but... the stubborn, hungry part of me often takes over!

As I said, I truly do respect and am thankful for the way Tommy has handled the situation. Many kudos to him, and I hope he saw JimJimmer's post as well, seeing as it was excellent and something I wish I would have said myself.

LOL.

Zero, no reason at all to be sorry!! And who could resist that face. I respect you and trust you as a friend! You can't keep me from being bad at times... but I'm completely grateful to you when, as a friend, you try to step in and keep me from going TOO bad. :)

OH Seoulsearch, is this like an online confessional type thingy thread?

Ok. my biggest sin right now is spending too much time on cc instead of feeding orphans or visiting the elderly or some other more Christian-approved activity.

I've become addicted to reading, will read just about any fiction book someone gives me and tends to ignore the rest of the world until I finish.

Have a habit of offending people by telling them what I actually think than what I think they want me to say.

I've got more but don't feel like sharing because I"m selfish like that.

ok.... take your best shot :)

please include Bible verses cuz then I might actually listen :)

Judge not!
1Co 2:15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged by no one.
Today if you even attempt to call sinners out of sin, they will immediately accuse you of being judgmental, unmerciful, and prideful, especially when you give them truth, they have never heard, it’s like a defense mechanism that is built into every professing Christian, who will shut you down, when they are called to repent or perish!
2Co 10:6 and having readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. The problem most have with these verses is first off, they never heard them, and second, they do not apply to the average Christian, because they were saved IN their sins, Jesus was their substitute, and they are just poor hopeless sinners saved by grace, so they think.
So when a real Christian(follower of Christ) comes along, they get suspicious of them, because they put them in the all-inclusive category, that all have sinned, all are born sinners, and that all sin is the same in Gods eyes, thus not being honest about what a real obedient faith is!
The doctrine according to godliness, has been lost, and is now replaced with a very liberal comfort gospel, that is getting people saved in their sins, then accepting the cloak that covers all their sins in Christ, who supposedly took their place, and now God sees Jesus, and not the wicked heart that is still alive and well.
They believe no one can be obedient, walk a blameless life, be perfect in purity of heart, walk worthy of their calling, remain undefiled from the world, sin no more, abstain from all appearances of evil, and put to death the old man in repentance! And those who claim they do, are called a hypocrite, liar, and walking around with a huge plank in their eye.
Why would these verses be there IF we could not attain them? Would God give us a task we could not complete? 1Co 10:13 No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it.
It’s simple to see, how far off the mark modern Christianity has fallen. and how blind those who can’t see are, as they scream "judge not" when you warn and rebuke their false ways, and sinful habits they refuse to give up. Along with all the reformed teachings that have made the true gospel void and impotent to set them free once and for all, from the bondage's of sin!
There is no urgency to keep the word pure, and even a lesser urgency for the professing Christian world to repent, and seek the mercy of God.2Co 7:10 For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted, but the grief of the world works out death.
2Co 7:11 For behold this same thing (you being grieved according to God); how much it worked out earnestness in you; but also defense; but also indignation; but also fear; but also desire; but also zeal; but also vengeance! In everything you approved yourselves to be clear in the matter.
No one who is still in bondage to willful sin and who also loves the world more than God, . Jas 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever desires to be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
has any business avenging the disobedient, or judging all things, he must first do his first works, Rev 2:5 Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and will remove your lamp stand out of its place unless you repent, then walk a life pleasing to God, not in perfection as many will accuse, but in humble obedience to the truth, walking in purity, sincerity, and love, forsaking the things of the world, to pursue righteousness, holiness, and heart purity, which includes contending earnestly for the faith! Jud 1:3 Having made all haste to write to you about the common salvation, beloved, I had need to write to you to exhort you to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints.
Being ready with all diligence, to judge righteously, fervently, and by the word of God, that is not to be taken lightly, as there are many souls at stake here!
2Ti 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
To judge righteously is a high calling of the saints, who have come out of the world, and the sin's that ensnared them, they stand aloof of the church system, guarding their hearts against the onslaught of lies, and temptations around every corner, they walk a life ministering to God, not to man, and keep themselves pure and unspotted from the world.
Yes, it’s a high calling, but a must to enter into the kingdom of God, it a race well worth running, because the prize at the end is well worth it, but we must be ready to avenge all disobedience, only if ours is fulfilled, not in perfection, but in a pure heart of love and devotion to our God, who boldly said:
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.
To love, follow and obey God is not burdensome; it’s a joy and privilege to those few who have actually repented, and crucified their flesh and its desires with Christ, once and for all!
Gal 5:24 But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

Ariel, you are a doll and I adore your posts. I appreciate that you are so honest and yet compassionate toward other people who may be in different situations.

I totally share your guilt in that I spend WAY, WAY too much time here... Maybe we can kick the habit together?! Accountability partners... :) And, like you, I get in trouble for saying what I'm really thinking.

My best shot? I'd say you're like my long-lost sister!! :)

I think he does it more to remind himself and when he exhorts others, he exhorts himself at the same time.

Tommy, can I give you a loving exhortation?

I understand the message you are trying to convey to others but your methods need some refinement.

first most people will not read post that long. they will tune you out.

for many different reasons but the one that I think may ellicit your compassion instead of scorn is that some people have reading disabilities that such long post makes it difficult for them to understand and your message is lost.

I think your heart is in the right place. however, will you pray and take the time to address each person as an individual and not just cut and paste large text.

people want to have a conversation with another person, not be preached AT.

You feel like its your mission to call back lukewarm or sinful Christians to repentance and that is admirable, but the way you go about it just alienates people.

Sometimes as well you kick the wounded sheep instead of bandage their wounds and lead them to still waters. Sometimes you do the work of the enemy more than the work of God by making them feel like they are not worth saving and that God could never truly love them.

the prideful will just ignore you and the hurt will just continue to bleed.

Some who are like you will thank you and I guess for those your methods work. Which we praise God that you can reach those who need it.

However, I ask you will you pray before posting in threads and allow God to lead you to compassionately discern who your words can help and not hurt?

Most of us don't need to be preached at, and some of us would like to have a conversation with our brother Tommy and get to know who you are and your testimony.

I like Tommy's posts actually. A lot of the times when he's rebuking someone else, I can see how I should be doing better in light of a certain scripture myself. Rebuke ain't a bad thing IMO if it's rooted in reality. You have the legitimately hateful and judgmental Christians.....then you have the ones that are just dealing out a stern rebuking. I don't think Tommy is in the hateful category.

Tommy, I appreciate your zeal. I appreciate the passion you have for truth. And this last post of yours is probably the best post I've ever seen you write. I honestly feel like this is the first time I've heard your heart.

Hmm... Dirt on me.

I am very adept at self-hatred and all the things that follow it. I have little grace for people who are late all the time. I can be rather confrontational.

I believe in original sin, I was baptised as a baby. I was raised in a Christian household and attended Christian schools. I don't read my Bible as often as I should, but more often than I used too. I tend to hold onto grudges at times. I tend to talk too much and not let others speak (I don't like awkward silences). I'm too trusting and (this hurts) I can be very judgmental of judgmental people.

I really struggle to love the aforementioned person. Personally, I believe sin should be taken seriously but I just don't see any grace from him.
