*LAUGHS* Love this, Chels... I'll have to remember this one. Well, you and Musical have a much better chance (some people might mistake me for his mother, poor guy... HA HA HA), so carry on :) All right everyone, don't be scared, please feel free to join in on the thread and us ladies will be glad to "encourage" you as well. :)

On the topic, no I don't think it's un-Christian to say that looks do count. However, if you start making an "idol" out of them, then it is wrong. I also think we should all step back and think about why we find some things attractive or why we value certain things. Sometimes, if not a lot of the time, we'll find that these standards are worldly/media/marketing based, and not based on anything that we would/should value independently.

That said, looks do matter. If you can't find one thing that attracts you to someone, then I don't think it'd work.

Of course the outward appearance is significant! If it wasn't then why would God ever mention beauty as a attribute of honor and importance? Why does he mention that David was good looking? That Job's daughters were the most beautiful in all the land? That Rachel was more beautiful than her sister?
Yes there's a general guide that we use for beauty, there are girls that you'll automatically categorize as not very attractive while others in the general view are considered attractive. However everyone has their own preferences. I've found out that the girls I have considered beautiful do not always appear so to my friends or family, and the other way around. Every person is unique and that uniqueness, though for some is careless, for others it's extraordinary!!!

But her father told her to break up with him immediately when he learned his daughter was dating an American (interracial dating is frowned upon in Korea.)

I can tell you what, looks do matter. I honestly wouldn't seriously consider dating/marrying a girl unless she was Asian and/or Korean. Maybe if she was SDA I would consider it...I'm not racist...but I just like Asian girls

Hahahaha...this has been a funny funny thread to read! Kakashi you casanova!!! LOL

My 5c worth.....
Sure there has to be an attraction, but sometimes attractions surprise you! Often you 'think' you know what you are attracted to physically in someone and then you get to know a person who's character, or humour or whatever 'lures you in'....and...before you know it, the very person you didn't find attractive in the first place becomes irresistable!! I have seen that happen over and over with my friends....coz lets face it, we are ALL gunna get old, wrinkly and lose a lot of our looks in old age....LOL....I know - truth hurts!

I agree to some extent that there has to be physical attraction It could be the way the girl looks at you or smiles or calls out your name. It doesnt mean they have to be buffed or A model. But i value the persons heart, Personality and there walk with God And if they know Jesus Christ as there own personal saviour. I Personally want a woman who can cook..Cause if A girl can cook will lasts to the ends of life. There looks(Not all cases) Arent gonna be the same as someone in there 20s They fade..But there cooking man will even get better! hahaha But thats just my opinon. Also Keeping The flame still in your marriage in my opinon keeping God first And then have communcation between my future wife and I. Stay up all night just talking such things like that. But that is just me.

So if multiple women here are competing for the same guy... what will give one an edge over the other? (Not that I'm asking for any particular reason, of course :).) Musical is already saving for a ring???!! BAH!! THE COMPETITION!! Musical, I see your huge ol' honkin' diamond ring, and I raise you... (hmm... Chase, love, what would win your heart? :)) A new computer? A WII system? An IPhone? (Gotta think like a guy here... somehow I don't think guys are impressed by the biggest diamond ring so I'm pulling out the BIG GUNS here... and also waiting for just the right moment to ask your family's approval and a candlelight dinner... and a trip to an amusement park... one of my personal faves--hope you like, K? :).) Seoulsearch doesn't back down from a little competition!! :) *laughs and smiles, hugs Musical* Actually... back to topic... I really liked what Johnoble said about God pointing out beauty in so many instances in the Bible... extremely interesting point I didn't think of... as for getting old and wrinkly--I'm trying to hold it off for as LLLOOONNNNGGG as possible (hence one of the reasons I immediate go for the tallest, fastest coasters at the theme parks!) Here's to aging gracefully... or never at all!

Who said it was a diamond ring? I could have been referring to a boxing ring or a circus ring. Or one ring to rule them all!
