Only if you hold fast.

1Cor 15:2 by which you also are being kept safe, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

In Hebrews 6:4-6, i see once they realize what they have done, they will repent. so in my opinion i believe OSAS. i'm not condoning turning from the truth, people that have done that will sooner or later see that just because the grass looks greener on the other side of fence was because a lot of donkey dung was over there. So my advice is not even to go over there, been there tried that, so take it from someone that has already experienced it, it's not nice.

Only if you continue.

Joh 8:31 So Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, "If you continue to accept and obey my teaching, you are really my followers.

I give you two thumbs up on your reasoning, but the jury is still out on osas. It is a nice thing to think is, but no light is truly shining on that stump yet for me..........God bless you and keep you always, amen.

Provided you do not fall away.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

PS, i don't see the word only, i see the word if. i have always believed, and accepted the teachings of Jesus, i have just stepped away of obeying before, and realized life is much better when i obey.

I hope you don't think I am being personal because I am not, my concern is that people continue or persevere with the Lord. :)

you see what you will, and i'll see what i see. i have stepped away before, and it looks like you are saying that now i'm doomed. In my opinion we don't fall away we step away, falling is an accident, stepping is on purpose, so i won't say i did it on accident, that would be making excuses. But now i'm back Praise God Almighty for His grace and mercy.

What about these verses... God says:... Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Now I ask... God says HIS SEED remaineth in a person that is born of God... And God says that is why this person does not sin. So does God's Seed remain in that person or not?

For that person to sin the SEED has to be removed first, and then I think God will NEVER put the SEED back. That is what I believe... I think it is possible to lose the SEED, but then it is IMPOSSIBLE to EVER get Him back.

Although there might be a hint in the Bible of one that lost it... That is another matter.

Now I am getting so repititious which seems to grate on some, but when something is needed to be said, it should be said. I always think of Paul's teaching, how though his spirit is alive because of Yeshua, his flesh is dead because of sin. He says though he wills to do what is right, he does the very thing he hates, therefore he will worship the Lord with all of his heart when driven to do that which he hates. It is not license to sin, not at all, but he is demonstrating our frame, and God knows our frame. His grace is fresh daily. Again, as Paul says, and I with him, Oh wretched man that I am..........that could apply to several of us, if not all of us..........

Faith.

Faith in your works.

or

Faith in His Work.

Everyone has voted. The polls are in. Which side did you fall on?

I'm not saying that, even if we slip away the Good Shepherd will come seeking us and will hold us eternally secure.

The problem is with those who commit apostasy which is like being a traitor. If Judas Iscariot was a genuine believer then he would be an example of a traitor who committed what we would call treason and there are not many people like that. :)

well Cobus, i don't know how to answer you. God says He knew us when we was in the womb, so it seems that the seed may have been planted there in us. Are you implying that i never had the seed or threw it away? so if i think i'm saved now i'm fooling my self? i don't get what you are trying to say. i think it best to let Jesus be the judge, since the Father gave judgement to Him. If i'm not understanding what you are saying forgive me.

How will He know we have Faith in His works?
You'll believe Him when He says I will never leave you nor forsake you.

You'll believe Him when He says no one can take you from His Hand.

You'll beleive Him when He tells you that nothing can come between you and His Love.

You'll believe Him. You'll have faith in Him.

You will understand that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

You will understand that He gives us exceedingly, abundantly more than we can think or ask.

You will believe that God does not take back His Gifts once given.
