I had it happen recently on the full moon where it was giant on the horizon at the top of a hill and when I crested and went down it was normal size. I am aware it is some sort of optical illusion but I turned around twice to observe this spectacle lol.
It's one thing knowing about it, quite another to be able to go back and forth on how big it is. gave me quite a giggle for some reason.
