Tried a new method I heard about for Mac and Cheese. Melt some butter in a baking pan. Pour some uncooked macaroni in and stir to coat. I added browned hamburger meat and sauteed peppers and onions and salt. Shred a good amount of cheese on top then cover with milk. (I used part water) Bake until done, about 45 minutes or so. We haven't eaten yet but it looks like it'll be a hit!

I had one more red bell pepper that I stuffed.
When I discovered that the freezer quit working yesterday, I decided to use the squid before it thawed. What I had left went back in for today. Praise the Lord it works now!
It was still fully frozen and goes good cooked with the brown jasmine rice at the end. I only added sea salt, fresh ground tricorn pepper, honey and organic butter for the sauce. I like the combination.
Everything had a distinct texture.
Pepper - crunchy
Squid - tender but chewy
Brown rice - adendte'
Butter - smooth and creamy
It enhances the mild flavors like the jasmine.

Oh I really like using this. Once I found some that had coriander in it at a discount store and it was SO GOOD! So much flavor.
Oh yeah!
Coriander is one of my favorite spices!
You just reminded me that I should plant some right away. I like cilantro in any vegetable dish and salad. That and a special way to prepare the coriander seeds makes my salsa really good.
BTW, I've had that mix you're talking about.
It IS good.

Do you have any favorite dishes that use it?

I remember it was really good in Borscht! But I like pepper in so many things so I think I'd like it in a lot of things.

Yes it's a Russian soup made with beets, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. So delicious. I first had it at a Russian family's house then later learned to make it.
I really like about any ethnic food. I guess it's because I never had trouble trying new dishes.
That's pretty cool that you got to meet a Russian family. I've only met a few that moved to America.
Did you travel to Russia or meet them here?

No I've never been out of the states. They moved in to our area and we met them at a church we were visiting.

Yeah I love ethnic foods too! I'm not picky and love trying new things. And learning to make them. Thai curry is one of my current faves. What's yours?

I'm surprised that we like so many of the same foods.....
I love Thai Curry!
I used to drive a looong distance to a Thai restaurant in Pennsylvania on special occasions.
It was tough to give that up when I got acne whenever I ate peanuts.

The good news is that I discovered sunflower seed butter. It tastes just like peanut butter!

Cool. Yeah peanuts have a lot of omega 6 I think and that causes inflammation.

I hope we're not derailing this thread too much lol! But food is so fun to talk about.

I've been on Keto-esque diet for about a month. Tonight, scrambled eggs with sour cream, cheese, salsa, and avocado. Next week, weekdays I'll likely be having loaded radishes and ground beef and zucchini/vegetable soup.
