  • Cory85,
There are only a few things to understand in order to have that gift of everlasting life. First is that we actually need it.
Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Before focussing on the last half, let's look at the first.
BTW, I need to go to PM because this section limits me to short comments.
The part you see, the body, is not the only part of us. The most important and everlasting parts are the soul and spirit. The spirit is dead and goes to Hell unless you do what Jesus told the Pharisee, "know ye not that you must be born again?"
That's the only way God gives us the gift of life.

Welp, I don't know how to be born again so maybe I'll figure that out after I die to the flesh for real

I simply do not have a way to endure and survive, even if I saw a reason to continue
Did you read the chapter that I linked to? The key verse that Jesus answered your quest is...
26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
    C
    Cory85
Then obviously nobody believes in Jesus because everyone dies...

    eh?
The Lord just brought me to John 11:21... and guess what? The exact same thing you just mentioned happens to be what Jesus talked about at His friend's death. Would you agree that He answered you rightly?

I am confused. What answer is there?
I can't think of a better to bring meaning to life than that.
The world does have a lot of evil. Did you know that Jesus prayed to the Father in John 17 asking Him to keep His disciples from the evil/ harm?
Other than the Bible way to Heaven/Gospel is not a substitute for proper personal care from qualified folks in your local area. I'm glad you listened to the videos. Those are not going to solve all of your problems, but are intended to offer nuggets of hope and practical knowledge that may get us both going in the right direction.

Yeah, the "analytical suicidal ideation" makes sense. Its math to me. Any value I may have had is long gone, and the pain of existing definitely outweighs any pleasure I could derive from not dying
    Hi @Cory85,
Dr Eilers is going to teach on this subject again. I'm hoping there might be something hopefully. He's felt like you do now and has found some tips he likes to share. If you missed it, go to his channel and at the top of the "live" category it should be his recording. There's not enough space to post it here so will be in my next post.
How are you doing right now?

Also, that video is for healthy happy normal people who have minor problems, not junkies in constant pain and poverty
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

    I find this encouraging.

I don't have positive thoughts to replace the self loathing and misotheism with, however. Hating god for making sick sad wretched doomed to die creatures like me and this awful mortal hell truly seems like the rational and righteous thing to do.

If God was truly just and truly omnipotent he wouldn't let this sin crap persist or ever happen in the first place. I am drowning all alone in hell and that does not appear to be a thought but a fact I can't change or get Jesus to either
I was reminded of this brain surgeon who had PTSD and serious depression. He proved from scientific observation and the Bible that we can rewire our brains. In fact I'm in the process of doing that now. I needed to hear this as confirmation because I just went through some heavy duty traumas up through recently.
    @Cory85 ,
Hey friend, Dr Eilers is live now and teaching the topic you are struggling with. Please go there now at this link. Then go to his YouTube channel because there you can chat.
Please go to his channel and select the "Notify me" for the YouTube reminder. For some reason the system won't let me connect to Dr Scott Eilers latest video. Please go there directly by accessing his channel.

I have watched all sorts of self help videos. The best they could teach is how to be part of the money circle of self help nonsense that rules the internet
I don't know if this will be live and open for discussion or not.
I would attend at noon Eastern time today and ask a question you've been wanting to learn more about. I suspect that God placed it on his heart and your circumstances to cover this right now. This is no coincidence. The posts in this section only allow short messages so I'll post the video in the next.
It's good to hear from you Cory! I was praying for you earlier . It's late right now so
I've got to get some sleep.
Please try to do the same and get back with me tomorrow.
It's interesting to see how that therapist began to transform from lifelong depression into a normal life. He describes elsewhere how he got through to have a successful practice and happy wife/child.
    Hi @Cory85 ,

I found something that a therapist posted that I think is useful and thought about you.
    How are you feeling today?

I am completely alone, in constant pain, everything humans do is meaningless in the face of death, and like your video explains, I've done the math. Whether I let God kill me by renouncing society and going to fast in the forest, or whether I take the quick way out, I just see absolutely no reason to play this wicked money/property/comfort game any longer

I get panicky when I contemplate mortality, not depression. I am pretty much always depressed but sometimes I have manic bursts so crashing back to depression feels like a return to normal more than anything

I can't imagine a god that loves me or a safe world or anything that isn't fragile that doesn't die and that couldn't hurt me. I certainly can't imagine any heaven where I even begin to remember this hell... Why was I made, why was I cursed from birth, why when I ask Jesus to save me am I still stuck rotting and dying in a violent fearful sick sad world that I can't do anything about?
Did you pray to Him at the end of the video?

But I'm not sure I could ever do so authentically because I do not believe in the god of debt or punishment or vengeance or that had to have someone murdered to find me lovable

I prayed a prayer when someone cared enough to share the gospel with me once. It did no good because I was not sincere. However that same night at my bedside I got out my KJV Bible and read the chapters of each verse he shared with me earlier, just to get the context.

I also wanted God's opinion, so I asked Him to reveal it to me before I read.
One fact that comes up from cover to cover is that we are all condemned without Christ. Only Jesus could pay for sins. Sinners cannot pay for one sin. We needed Him to take our place. This is why He was crucified.
