I used to be an atheist.

Not all atheists believe the same things. There is no set rules for what a person has to believe to be an atheist. It's unfair to draw a box around a group of people and assume they all believe the same things simply because they believe differently.

Never discuss with an atheist, they will have answers to every one of those points of yours, that make no sense, but that they think make sense.

trust me, I've tried- I end up accused of being ignorant of science and of being crazy....
Well, even an atheist can get one or two things right now and again

Pretty fair to say that all atheist do not believe there is a God. Otherwise, they would be Agnostic.

Now, I personally, do not believe there is any such thing as an atheist. Just a bunch of folks making noise. And they do a pretty fair job of defining themselves without anyone's help.

Everyone believes in something/someone, even if it is themselves. And, since they do, they are not atheist. Much like evolution, it's a man made thingy.........with no real truth in it.

What convinced you to believe in God?

I'm not sure. I think I'm trying to figure that out - do I actually believe in God? If I do, what do I believe about Him? If I believe something, what does that mean? If I believe something, would I be better off trying to figure it out on my own, or does it benefit me to navigate talking to others and risk being led completely astray?

The comments that make me the most angry are those that associate all religions with terrorism and hatred. I really don't see why Christians get associated with extreme Islam.
Their reasoning is because both camps believe in a god.

Thats it, thats the entire reason. Doesnt even matter that they are two completely different gods, the fact that you are devoted to your creator, whether or not its the One who actually created us or one created by a being trying to destroy you, means that you will kill and destroy for Him. Even if He commands you not to do it, theres no difference to it with these people.

Some day you'll need to tell me what, precisely, your problem with me is. I realize your Pampers are in a wad, and I do hope you'll get them untangled. I bet you're probably a nice guy, or at least have your moments, but I'd have to see you without all your passive aggressive behavior first.

No problem at all............I don't believe a word you say, or a thing you post. I think you are as fake as they come.

Guess you took me off ignore huh?

Put me back on if you wish, I don't really care.

Okay, well thank you for telling me. That lack of trust is your issue to deal with. Best of luck with it.

To avoid being lead astray it's best that you first read & study the scriptures yourself. In which you will also develop decernment & can easily spot false doctrines whenever you encounter it. God said if you love him you will keep his commandants. While it's good you're leaning towards believing in him, you will also have to live for him as well.

You are mis-reading what I wrote. You are reading it from the position that I am a dyed-in-the-wool atheist and that I have never known God. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that God exists. Not only is it close to a mathematical/statistical certainty that God exists, but it also makes logical and some inkling of an emotional sense. Beyond that "God exists", I can't say anything more with any kind of conviction. Hence why my signature line used to read "I don't believe what you believe". To me, spirituality/religion isn't something you should fake the funk with. Be honest or be absent.

With the spiritual crisis I have been going through for the last few years, I am also trying to wrap my mind around the change in life this particular journey has brought up. As antagonistic as it may sound, CC is not a good place to find role models of how Christians should behave. Some might see me as fake, and I understand that completely because I think most everyone else is fake, so at least we have that in common. I see a lot of play acting here, and if that is what Christianity looks like, then I don't know that I want to be a part of it. It will likely take me years to figure out just what I believe and what those beliefs will mean for me, and I am the only person who can convince me of it. Lots of people have shared the gospel with me over the past few years, but none of them gets the crown for soul winning. I've still got too many questions.

I understand you saying it will take time for you. I just hope you have repented & accepted Christ as Lord as you go through your personal journey.

Well yes, they are atheist because they haven't bothered looking at any alternative.
And yet, dear sister, on Judgment Day they'll earnestly beg to spend eternity with God whom they did not seek here on this side of Heaven. Very sad and hypocritical.
