i wish someone made a simple affordable car, but to be honest i dont see how they build such complex machines as cheap as they do.

Around 1972 the minimum wage was $1.35. Thats what I was getting paid back then. I'd get a raise whenever the minimum wage went up.

I know some people who drive gas cars, and if they get to Heaven the Bible was lying to me. :p

Actually it's got to do with inflation, which has mostly been caused by the govmint spending more than it has.

I'm no economicist, but...
Retail usually goes by,
"Whatever the market will bear."

In the news yesterday, they said that 80% of the cash printed in history (American Dollar, FRN) was printed in the past three years.
Inflation certain accounts for high prices. Wages are not adjusted for the same ratio.
So, yes inflation and whatever prices will make the most profit for the companies.....both of those are what sets prices.
