Does it hurt to be kind?

I know this is a Christian forum site and everyone has their own opinions and objectives, but this is also where people come for healing, hope, and fellowship.

Is there a reason to be rude? Does the love of God dwell in your hearts truly? You know that one of the fruits of the lord is compassion, yet so many people do not have it. Everyone is so quick to call themselves a christian but yet they do not live like it. We are supposed to be God's light for the darkness of this world! Where is YOUR LOVE? is it hard to show love towards others? or maybe it is yourself that you do not love, remember you must love your neighbor as you love yourselves!

You can help a person be healed by the kindness of your heart; Please remember that the tongue is the most powerful weapon on our bodies, we must choose our words with caution, God will judge us for that... Forgive and be forgiven. Just love others!

Mom always said "If you can't say something good about someone, then don't say anything at all". We would do well to to remind ourselves from time to time of these wise words..........Thanks Mom.........and Amen.

Excellent words of wisdom! And I need to be reminded often. I have to watch out that in addressing those who are being impolite and bullying others, that I don't find myself reacting in the same impolite way. Sunlight77, you presented that so graciously, the way Jesus would. Praise God!

Yes Stan, I was brought up the same way. Circumstance widowed my mother and put us in the poor farm, but we still had values. My family may have been dysfunctional, but we felt love for each other. Wisdom is always hanging about, and the child that collects it will stand above his peers. That reminds me of one of the modern proverbs that the Lord gave to me; which I published in my first book.

Sometimes it hurts to be kind, for kindness is part of loving, as we are told in 1 Cor. 13... that love is patient and kind. But the hurt is well worth it, for when we begin to learn how to be patient and kind with others as with ourselves, we are truly growing and not just pretending we are=). To your other question, I often see no reason to be rude.
