Post the name of a celebrity that you know is a christian.

I'll start with BOB DYLAN.

Some people don't believe me when I tell them this because
they think behavior or life style is what makes you a christian.
Being a christian is about believing in Christ, and Dylan
definitely does.

I just read an interesting article that Alice Cooper is a Christian. He became one in the 1980's but is only starting to write Christian lyrics and not play his old music anymore.

He does NOT want to be a celeb Christian, but rather glorify God instead!

Yes, I saw an interview of Alice Cooper. He is definitely a christian and comes from a christian family. If I remember right, his grandfather was a minister. But as a musician he decided the music business needed a "bad boy of rock" so he filled the "need". But he was a christian all the time, and the lyrics of his songs (if you could hear them) told people not to follow the devil.

Alice Coopers father was a minister. And while it's true he believed himself to be a Christian the entire time of his career, about 20 years ago he realized he had gotten away from his faith and came back to God through a Billy Graham Crusade on tv.
His first 'Christian' album was put out when i was a teen called 'The Last Temptation' i believe.

Demons believe in Christ. A Christian is someone who follows and obeys the Lord, not just believes Jesus is Lord. Before I became born again I believed there was a God, and I believed Jesus died for the sins of humanity. But I was not living at all for Christ, rather for the devil. When I became saved and decided to follow Jesus then I truly became a Christian. A tree is known by its fruit.

Bob Dylan also admitted he sold out to the devil to get famous. He said " the chief commander of this earth and the world we cannot see". He was not talking about Christ. Jesus does not offer people fame. You cannot make a pact with Jesus. Jesus offers the path of salvation, not worldly fame and recognition. The teachings of Christ is to deny yourself, and your own will. Satan is the god of self, and always wants to be in the spotlight.

You know... the reason I started this post was to have a little fun and rejoice in knowing certain celebrities that many of us have be exposed to are going to be in heaven with us. I could turn this into a discussion of grace vs legalism but that's not my purpose. That topic has been worked over time and time again with a zillion postings back and forth. Perhaps I should have use the word "saved" rather than "christian". I'm not going to make any further comment on this.

My hope would be that all people, famous or not, would find salvation. However God is the judge of each person's heart and knows their destiny. I was merely pointing out facts that are real facts, and many celebrities who have been listed on this forum are not at all fruit bearing Christians. You cannot love the world, the things of the world, and love God. You must hate one, and love the other. There is no fence sitting in the Kingdom of God. God is also no respector persons. All of the pride and pomp of fame and having a name among men means nothing in the sight of God. His ears are towards the broken, and contrite in spirit. Again, God is the judge of the heart, but as Jesus said, a tree is known by it's fruit. My point has been made, moving on from this.

um, no we do have to hate the world. we are told not to be friends with the world ( James) and not to love the world (John) but not to hate it. so you need to seek truth harder.

When I say hate the world I'm not talking about hating the people. I said my hope was for all people to be saved. When I say the world I am talking about the mindset of the world, not the people. I hate everything the world stands for that opposes God. But the love of God in me desires all people to be saved. You need to have a better understanding of truth before you counsel me to seek truth.

Romans 12:9. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil, cling to good.

o.k., you can have your opinion, nut do not put it out there as Biblical truth, which you kind of did.

Which part I have stated is not biblical truth? I only speak of biblical truth, and it's a wisdom not worldly but a wisdom given to me by the Holy Spirit. The Word of God clearly states to abstain from all fleshly desires and to hate what is evil. If I wanted to I could quote scripture after scripture to back up my words. You came after me and said I needed to seek more truth without even understanding my words, which are derived from the Word of God. If you have an opinion of someone without understanding the facts then you should keep your opinion to yourself. I have stated my point, and i will not engage your words further so that I may avoid unnecessary strife and contention.

o.k sorry. but your OPINION of Biblical truth is your opinion. no verse says hate the world. again, if that is how you chose to see it, go ahead. but just do not sate it as a attitude everyone has to have.
