Then dog would be worth a point. You can't give points for one syllable words. That would be like giving a point in basketball just for passing the ball.

Then you exclude many words that come in under five syllables but should be awarded points. If somebody says of someone else, "he is quite loquacious but his penchant for profundity and guarility can become a bit enervative," that should get a few points. And maybe an espresso to stay awake.
