COUNTER-STRIKE for the PEOPLE of CHRISTIAN CHAT :)

While chatting on CC yesterday, myself and a few brothers stumbled onto the subject of counter-strike. We immediately began discussing how fun it would be to round up some good brothers and sisters from CC, for some online fun with one another. Within a few hours, we had about 10 people saying they'd love to play, with about 6 of us confirmed with our email accounts.

PRIVATE GAMES FOR CC MEMBERS ONLY.
Anyone who's played online games, especially games with high action, knows how how much of a joykiller it can be to hear a bunch of people you don't know becoming obscene, offensive, and talking smack to yourself and others. We want to play with people who are humble, who have camaraderie, and just want to have some good fun, so we are making the games we host password specifically for people we know from here, and doing so by making the games password protected.

If you want to play, this forum will contain the info you need to join us, such as the emails we all use on our steam accounts, which specific game to purchase, the passwords to get into our games, etc.

We'd love to enjoy some fun and your company, so if you have any questions, post them here, or look for me in the chat rooms, and hit me up. We look forward to having you.

Isn't counter-strike a bit violent for Christians? Haha. I used to LOVE CSS! But personally with all of the violence in it, I don't think it's appropriate. Theres a reason it's rated M :p I just think. What would Jesus Do? Since we are to strive to be like Him.

Just my opinion.

I do miss counter-strike though... QQ

I don't think this is very right. We, people of heaven, not of this world, are trying to get away from all these ungodly worldly things, and I'm pretty sure that this is pulling you in the other direction. You should leave these things behind in your search for God, not get even more rapped up in them.

Yes, you are very right, and if I remember correctly, there was a show way back in the day called tattooed teenage alien fighters from Beverly Hills.

Come on now guys, its just another way for Christians to fellowship. This is not evil, whats wrong with counter strike? It's a game and nothing more. It's just a way to relax and have fun. How often do you get to roll across the floor with an M16? If I can do that without actually hurting anyone, then I'm all for it. Don't read too much into this. It's just honest fun, and if it brings us together...why not?
You have to be able to differentiate from reality and virtual reality. That is key. Don't be so quick to judge guys. I'm not exactly searching for God anymore, I think I've found him. And I know deep down inside that God has a place for me in this world, like he has for you as well. And I don't think God would be angry with me for bringing counter strike to you my fellow Christians. It's another way to fellowship is all. If playing a video game ends up sending me to hell then so be it, but if that's the case then everyone who plays games like these is going to hell! Jesus wants us to accept him as our Lord and Savior, which I do. I am not perfect, nor do I strive for perfection. But I try to be the best person I can possibly be, and I do my very best to fulfill God's will.

Debating? My friend we aren't debating, simply recruiting fellow Christians on CSS. Healer_Xp and I were just kicking it yesterday and we had a blast, I mean you guys are missing out. Don't read to much into it friend, this is just another way for Christians to fellowship. We'd love to have you murray you seem like a pretty cool guy yourself. But come on now my wonderful brothers and sisters, at least give it some thought if nothing else :)

Last time I checked though killing is a sin. Whether it is virtual or in real. If hating is like murder. What is virtual murder?

It's just another tool of the enemy to desensitize ourselves.

last time i checked, virtual killing isn't murder. If you were virtual killing out of malice sure, it would be wrong, but if it's simply to move the mouse kicker then them and more accurately, it's not.

hand and eye coordination is not a sin.

The images and actions that you are simulating is a sin though.

Dmurray, don't read too much into it bro. You're a pretty cool guy I think, and a very cautious one at that. If you feel in your heart though man that this is sin then by all means refrain from joining up. But you're always welcome :)

watching a story with violence, hearing a story with violence, reading a story with violence none of these things are a sin

committing voilence is sinful

I used to play a lot of steam games. I have over 700 hours logged on DoD:S, I have about 150 on CS:S and a few minor games I have about 10 hours each. Shortly after I make this post, I will go back to Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion.

Playing games is fun.

Regardless of whether violent games are sinful or not, it distracts from god, I won't lie.

I played the original Mortal Kombat arcade game at age 8 in 1992 and did I grow up to be a sadistic, blood-thirsty serial killer? I think not.
