What "evidence" made you loose faith? You might want to enlighten us, so we are not stuck believing a lie... I do not believe in God because it's feel good medicine...
Actually, I can't share things like that, as that would be against the site rules.Rule number 1 is "Nothing anti-christian or inappropriate for a Christian chat room or forum."
Also, to clarify, I didn't say that I found evidence that you are wrong (though I do think there is). What I said was that I found that there was no evidence to support your beliefs. That was all I needed to stop believing, because I can't believe something for which I have no evidence or justification for believing.
I certainly don't think you believe in God just to make you feel good. I don't claim to know why people believe what they believe, because I don't expect anyone to claim to know why I believe whta I believe. I'm sure you have reasons for why you believe, just like I have reasons that I don't believe. Those reasons are surely valid in your eyes, just like mine are in my eyes.

Not anymore, but I used to and it was ruining my life.
I wondered too for a long while does God care. I was agnostic for about 2 decades.
My hardest stumbling block were not current events, but looking for "proof" of God's existence and all kinds of stuff from the Old testament that made me think "is this God some psychopat or what?" I would not even care for the New testament, I decided to be stuck with the Old and debate until it is explained!
After I believed I found proof of His existence in abundance that my eyes were shut for before. He even sent me a dream while I was unbeliever containing specifics from the New testament that I couldnt know or interpret, until I read it as a believer. The dream had also Jesus on the cross in it but I guess it wasnt enough at the time? Because I would not believe.
I also found out that God is no hypocrit (Jesus cant stand hypocrisy). That is about the uttermost thing I like about God. He also submits to the Law. And He repented after the Flood where all life was wiped out. He would not request us to repent if He did not give the example first (regardless that He committed nothing unlawful) because He gave us the best example in everything (zero hypocrisy). His anger is just but He desires the excellent way... He swears not to destroy the living again by flood and instead comes to forgive sins and save all creature from the death by law. We also must longsuffer sin and death like He did...
He made us in His image... if we suffer, He suffers 1000 times more. He has tears and mourns... through the Body - you.
Even as a Christian, in the beginning I was doubting and being swayed in the same way, not at the point to say "God is not good", but I wanted some explanations about certain events. And God kindly informed me that I was judging HIM and searching HIM out for faults.
So He told me once in the middle of my diligent study, if you do not please to find Me acceptable to you AS I AM, then I shall also find you unacceptable to Me. Ouch. That hurt. I hurt and disrespected Him. God is God. I repented.
People judge God without knowing Him. So God also judges them. Would we like to be judged? Why do we judge GOD?
If we do not judge God and our neighbor, we are not judged. God is Go(o)d...
Once I knew by faith 100% that God is good, He opened my eyes to understand the Old testament and see JESUS in it. Soon I said "It is enough" and searched no more. I realized it even wasnt these events that I cared for. It was my only faith that was lacking. If you need reassurance and proof, God will shower you with it, just come to Him in faith.
Hope this gives you some comfort. Sorry for the long post, I just can identify.
Israel doubted all the time in spite of incredible miracles they witnessed, and yet He favored them. Doubting Thomas was one of chosen apostles and Jesus LOVED him. Love you!

I know what you are saying..last week i was driving and i saw these homeless people and i just started to cry because it hit me all the suffering and evil in this world..but it made me just start praying that He will return soon and stop the suffering..this world becomes more and more evil with each passing day..just remember to cling to Him..that is how we are to get through it...

Absolutely..sometimes I doubt God is listening to me, I doubt whether he actually hears me or not. I doubt whether I'll go to heaven or not. I think we all have doubts about one thing or another.

We all have doubts at one pkint or another. My biggest problem is I feel like if I sin or do something wrong I am in danger of losing my salvation. I know that's not true because I have accepted Jesus Christ as My Savior but I just try to be perfect and focus on my works instead of my relationship with Jesus. I know it's wrong. It's just really hard. But when we doubt God because of bad things that happens it's sort of silly. The Devil has reign right now. He causes this bad stuff. Remember Job? Sometimes God will test us. We brought sin into this world. Let's not be wide eyed and bushy tailed. We deserve every bad thing that happens to us. But God has more Mercy and Grace then we could ever imagine. He cares enough to Bless and let us into Heaven. He sent His son to die for US. Most of the bad things that happen we bring upon ourselves. Lool at all the sin we live in. It's sad. And I shouldn't be this harsh. I'm sorry. But why don't we focus on the Miracles God does? He works right before our eyes and we focus on the bad things? This is earth. Noone promised us sunshine and lollipops. Lets praise God rather than question Him.

We all go as far as the legs of reason will carry us, and then we leap. I respect what you said here, though.

To speak to that rule: I don't believe giving an account for your worldview is considered inappropriate unless you intentionally deliver it to be that way.
