Oh that is most definitely happening. :D
You need to do it as now when you are excited about reading the Bible prayerfully.

You need also to do it in the future even if you may not feel excited about it: it's perseverance that the Lord honors especially! :)

Blessings.

Glad you purchased a Bible............AND I sincerely hope you delve into His Holy Word...........

(be careful though........it can be EYE OPENING.........and more than a few who have read His Holy Word for the first time became quite alarmed to discover that "being raised Christian" is not the same as being "saved.")

I always CAUTION people who are not in the habit of reading the Bible to proceed with caution...........IT CAN BE LIFE CHANGING! God bless

There are people who were raised as Christians that haven't read the Bible? Really?

I like highlighting and writing in my bible, I keep a journal with my bible that I like to write in scriptures that stand out to me and have a great impact on my life during certain times.

I have already started highlighting away :) I need to get a little notebook to put in my bible case to write important things in and put extra notes. On another note I am absolutely impressed with the church i went to see the other day. All the people I met were so warm welcoming and friendly. I also like that they are so active in the community and within their own little community. I am supposed to move for school (nothing finalized there) but I have such a strong feeling, I've never had a feeling this strong before that I am supposed to be there. I think I need to be there.

If you download e-Sword on your computer, it is free. It has the KJV of the bible for free, and you can buy other translations for not much. There is a space for keeping notes. By clicking on the little binocular icon on the menu bar, it will search any part of the bible for any word or group of words you are wondering about.

I havent been doing it much. My pain killers really make me sleep a lot.
Long reading at one time is not necessary. Doing it regularly, and prayerfully a little at a time can be good.

John 14.1; John 14.27 can be good to read before a believer goes to sleep.

Blessings.
