Hi,
I am into being fit and healthy. I am a runner and still compete on an amateur level. I run most days - take my dog with me as motivation - as well as train with my athletic club. My diet consists of almost Paleo as I find that this is a very healthy way to live. It means that I cook from scratch, no processed foods (although I am prone to the occasional biscuit etc). But I have never felt healthier being on this diet. Basically it is protein based which is a good thing for a runner.
I did not start running etc to lose weight. I have always been lean but as I get older, I am finding that certain foods do not agree with me.

:D
I suddenly feel very insecure about myself lol. Just kidding. Nice job, Kejowa!

Very cool, I was a runner myself back in high school and college, so I love that.

24 Fat-Burning Ab Exercises (No Crunches!) - Health.com - This has a pretty good list of ab exercises, I've used some of them myself. The plank pose is really good, as it works your entire core, not just the abs. You could also take like a little stool or box, anything low really that you can step on and do "stair steps" up and down. You can also do things like stand against a wall and do squats or "couch" pushups, where you stretch out in front of the couch with your hands on the couch and go up and down. Anyway, just a few suggestions that came to mind, I'm sure others may have better answers :p
Thank you!
I didn't even think about doing any "stair steps". :/
Must have slipped my mind.
But I really appreciate it! :)

I think this is awesome. It's definitely about being healthy and pursuing a lifestyle that leads to health. :) You seem like you're on a good track.

Thanks! Definitely wasn't always easy, but just stuck to the plan :)
Yeah, my Mom always said, "Any weight loss plan will work, if you stick with it!" It's the sticking with something for the long haul that tends to trip people up, myself included. Good job!

Okay so I have a question..
I've struggled with my weight for a very long time. I have a bone disease that makes it hard for me to work out. After a while of working out I can do harder workouts but it usually takes a few months before I can even try.
Anyway.. At 15years old I weighed 190lbs. I walked 5 miles a day, changed my diet and did a work out called supreme 90. I had lost 57lbs in a year. Well I kept it off for a while just by walking and supreme 90.
When I was 19 I decided to do insanity, the first month into it I lost 10lbs but I got pregnant and had to stop. I didn't gain any weight in my pregnancy. But now my son is 10 months old and I've gained my weight back. I was 171 a week ago. Today I'm 166. All I've done so far is change my diet and I stopped drinking soda.
My question is..
Do any of you have any easier workouts to start off with other than walking? (I'm getting bored with walking all the time.) And does anyone have a list of stretches and ab workouts?

(Yes I have talked to a doctor about working out. I have the "okay" from him to do so as long as I know my own limits.)
Hey, Pres :)

It can be difficult to do those extreme workouts. I know when I used to be very overweight, I would start out small. Remember, you can start out slow and you can work yourself up to when you feel good about it. It's about taking baby steps, but also setting your mind on a goal. When I used to be overweight, I used to go up and down the stairs about 20 times. You can also do some modified workouts where you don't jump. I have a few ideas I can get to you, but I think Bruce gave you a pretty good website :)

If you have any other ideas I'd be more than happy to hear them. :) I'll take any advice I can. I need to get healthy again for myself and my son.

Yeah. I mean, I do all my workouts with a video as well. Let me get some ideas for you and I can shoot you a PM.

I think you'd definitely benefit from working out and eating right. :) You got this. Remember, it shouldn't be rushed. There's going to be really good times and some rough moments, but it's a journey.

As far as diet, I try to eat organic foods... Going to get my masters in health and wellness, though, I'm going to start being stricter with myself with it. Why take a health psych class and pursue more if I'm not going to take what I learned, ya know?
