lol, I didn't get to see that movie until it was on commercial tv and I must've missed that scene, probably a touch of adhd, and had to look it up.... beside that, for some reason idk, I get a picture of Fruit Stripes when Juicy Fruit is mentioned and confuse the one for the other. Though my all-time favorite, Fruit Stripes would've totally ruined that scene.

Is "the person" (I am assuming you are referring to a particular facet of his personality.) the only thing you see in him - or, does he have any redeeming qualities at all?

I am well aware, to be sure - but, as I have discovered, he is not like that all of the time.

The more I get to know him (through his posts), the more I am able to "not be bothered" by that facet of his personality - because, I see other facets that are not as "rough around the edges"...

Yes, he seems to be "a bit different" in some ways - but then, most people probably think that about me.

Are you not able to "look past" that particular facet and see the rest of him?

Because, the following quoted post seems to reflect an attitude and feeling of:

Yes, his "CAN stop and fiddle" comment did/does seem a bit "off" - still - saying "Ignorance does indeed show" seemed a bit 'pointed' and unnecessary.

I thought the rest of post #45 was rather informative - especially for someone that knows little about guns, ammo, etc.

It wasn't new to me; but, to him, it could have been an epiphany moment.

Do you ever think about the fact that there are things in each life - mine, yours, his, others - that have had a significant effect on us - whether it be to strengthen or weaken us?

He looks after his grandmother - who has dementia - out of love for her, out of necessity, out of a sense of duty, whatever the reason(s).

This kind of thing can affect you in ways you may not realize if you have not dealt with it directly. (Not saying you haven't, I don't know.)

My mother passed away in 2012 after going through (or, "down, down, down") having Alzheimers.

I "mourned her loss" even before she passed away.

Because, Alzheimers "took her away from me"...

The further she "fell" into its grasp (so to speak), the more difficult it became to simply sit and have a meaningful conversation with her.

This past Sunday, she would have been 81.

I miss her. She is/was a truly wonderful lady.

However, I also believe she is now with the Lord.

No more pain and suffering.

In that sense (because of that), I am actually happy for her.

But, I digress.

The point I am trying to make is that - our personality is "shaped" in part by the things we have to deal with in life.

I think - perhaps to some degree at some time or another - we all get jaded.

[I believe] I can see it in both you and @Lynx - and others on CC as well.

We are all in the same boat.

Satan continues unabated putting holes in it.

It will not be very long before it takes on too much and sinks.

In the near future, Christians will need each other like never before.

Don't [ever] let that realization slip from your mind.

Cut him some slack...

I did not say "feel sorry for him"; rather, I am saying - if we are to love our enemies:

~ If you consider him your enemy - well - show him the love the Lord would have you to show him.

~ If you consider him your friend and brother - how much more should you show him the love, patience, etc. that the Lord would have you to show him.

Give him the opportunity to "rise above" the 'jadedness' and show forth his brotherly love to others without sarcasm.

How do you do that?

Well - you "rise above" - and show him your brotherly love without sarcasm.

Be the example to follow...
