Those who do not have good works are not punished. They are simply not rewarded.

If those who have good works only do it to be rewarded or just to avoid punishment is it really good work

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Mt. 10:28).

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal (Mt 25:46).
--
“There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom:

the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell (Hades) he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead” (Lk. 16:19-31).

- If you love your family and friends then you are doing them a great disservice by being so nonchalant about Hell. Maybe if you'd be the lit lamp God could use you to show them the way.

If I had been on the Titanic with my family when it was sinking, I wouldn't have been playing my instrument as it went down. I definitely would have been trying to find a way to get my family on a life boat.

if a child is running towards the deep end of the pool you do what you can to stop them, plain and simple.

Yes I do believe in a hell for the unsaved. I also think there is a hell for the saved who do not do good works.
Works are 'fruits' of salvation. The saved have works.

Ephesians 2:8-10: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them"

The unsaved don't have works.

You might be right... except... according to Wolfs profile, and supported by some of his other posts, he's not a Christian. So it seems rightly so he's so nonchalant about hell.

Really? I thought it was an accurate analogy. Children are naive and the lost are blind. Both run towards what they consider a harmless destination that can and will end their lives and those who see it clearly are obligated to attempt to stop them. Lest they too be held accountable for doing nothing. If you stood by and watched your nephew drown you would be held accountable. In that same way will the believer be held accountable for the destruction of non believers we don't attempt to warn.

I personally dont' believe in hell, but I'm curious, if christians turn out to be wrong and end up in some other religion's version of hell, would u still be happy with the way u lived ur life despite the fact that it turned out to be "wrong".

For myself, I know that I wouldn't be too terribly unhappy with the way ive gone about things, yes there are those mistakes i regret, but if i die tomorrow and end up in hell (which I don't believe will happen when I die anyways, but its just a hypothetical) I dont think i would be too upset. Besides, everyone I know and love has similar to the same world view as me, they would all be there with me

its stupid because of this. Christians are always telling that this life and body means nothing this life is a test to see where you go when you die so if you saw a child drowning who you know beloved in Jesus Christ and was a good boy why save him he's going to a better place right maybe its gods plan for that child to die. But wait you say what if god wants me to save that child he's testing me well lets think about it this child a christian why save some1 who in your view is already safe and would saving that child from going to heaven really a good thing you may make

God angry by going against his plan hey it makes more sense to save a child who doesnt belive so you can convert them after.
Now that is why your example is stupid based on your logic you can let a child die hey if I used the example of 2 children where drowning one a beliver tho other not who will you save. Your answer would be the non beliver. Well my answer would be to try and safe both. So you see your example is not as simple as you make it out to be
