Accusing others of lying is toxic in its self, when someone’s understanding of a verse doesn’t line up with your understanding doesn’t equal a lie, what kind of understanding are you pushing?
It's not an accusation if the facts are laid bare to see.
You said the phrase "You can lead a horse to water" can be found in Matthew 10. Not only is it not there..there is absolutely nothing even close to that sentiment there. What I said it wasn't there; rather than admit you were wrong; you tried to now defend the lie by looking for any verse about a horse; and posted the 1st one you saw; without actually figuring out what it means or the historical context. You intentionally misused Scripture to try to support your lie.

The Bible does say SOME things are understand, but not all. God is not the author of confusion; we are only confused because many Christians don't actually study the Bible; they simply believe what their church tells them; rather than dissecting Scripture.

Urban dictionary- Toxic is a group of people who are rude and can't be nice. They are not true to people around them. They need an attitude check.Their personalities are so unappealing its make the people around them suffer and turn rude as well.

Some are too toxic and we need discernment in handling certain situations.
Ok, so, here are the issues: I would assume, the most likely definition for what we're discussing is #3. Malicious - of evil intent. Seems pretty sinful to me.
As such; when I say toxic, I mean in the context that it is most often used, and in the definitions that other members here have stated. When I say in the context it is used most often - that would be abuse, drug dealers, and annoying people, or maybe someone who swears a lot, or name-calls...basically much of it, from what I have heard and seen, is defined by example of sin. This was consistent with all the examples I was given.

As far as Matthew 7, I've already discussed how the text directly before it is how you need to examine yourself before judging others--consistent with my original post of noting your own toxicity before seeing it others.

As far as Matthew 10, I've also already discussed this--in which this was when Jesus preached the Gospel - He said this in regards to unbelievers - whom He said it would be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on that day than for that town who rejected Jesus Christ. This passage has absolutely nothing to do with fellow Christians other than how to handle people who reject the Gospel; but it not how to handle other Christians who sin; as this would directly contradict Christ's instructions on reconciliation with fellow Christians.

We need to stop picking and choosing one verse from a chapter that support our stance, and rather read the complete text and understand context and meaning.

Then again, some people are just toxic regardless the types of sin they have committed. Some negative obnoxious people will simply suck the life out of you if you allow them to do so.
^^This is probably the one I'm most apt to change my mind on--this is the only one where in fact, the obnoxious person may not be sinning. But I would also argue there is a good chance of idolatry of man as well. So this is the only one where I may be inclined to say toxic doesn't necessarily equal sin, though, it could.

I believe it is similar to Matt 10 and the Proverbs doesn’t mean I lied, it is simply you don’t believe it is doesn’t equal I lied. you saying I picked the first one I saw is rubbish you have no idea what I do or did or when

umm...no, that's exactly my point...I'm trying to say the world is using the word toxic, and they are replacing the word sin with toxic.
I am trying to say the word toxic is not scriptural; only that the way most people use the word toxic is what the Bible calls sin.

Also, please explain how it is similar to Matthew 10.

If I was to use the word toxic even though it’s not in scripture, I can recognize in a city that becomes hostile rejection to a message is toxic simple as that.

I would like to add...when Jesus and the disciples were shaking the dust off from their feet, this was a practice Jews would commonly do in the presence of Gentiles to show their separateness. When Jesus did this, he was in effect saying he and the disciples were eternally separated from the people who rejected Christ's message of salvation.
When you say symbolically shake the dust off your feet-it is supposed to mean you are eternally separated from that person forever,, even in eternity.

When Jesus did this, he was in effect saying he and the disciples were eternally separated from the people who rejected Christ's message of salvation.
When you say symbolically shake the dust off your feet-it is supposed to mean you are eternally separated from that person forever,, even in eternity.

When Jesus said these things, He was not saying this specifically to Gentiles, but to those who did not repent and believe in the message of Christ; this is most evident in Acts where the apostles receive some Gentiles but shake the dust against others who didn't repent. He was in effect saying those unrepentant towns were no better than pagans.

Where did you get that it was a common practice from scripture? And I’m still waiting for scripture support that Jesus performed it also.

Jesus is here showing is companionship and unity with the disciples; that they are one. Is there an actual passage that states in the exact words "Jesus shook the dust off his feet?" I do not know--but he certainly taught others to do it.
Perhaps there was an error of communication; but the intended meaning remains the same.
