I'm not sure I understand "gay" Christians... It is completely against the Word of God. Yes, when people are saved the change doesn't always happen over night. Sometimes, it's a process that takes time. The Holy Spirit changing us from the inside out. I've had my share of sins and lifestyles that God delivered me from... some things over night, some He's still working on and in, but being a Christian of 20 years and still being gay (not "struggling" with the sin or whatever, ...but continually being involved in such acts and lifestyles) just does not make sense to me. We don't even have to struggle with sin. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that God has provided a way out when temptation comes. Sin is a choice. We have power and authority over sin in the name of Jesus Christ. We can take those thoughts and feelings captive under the obedience of Him. It just blows my mind. Yes, Jesus loves everyone! BUT He does not like sin. Homosexuality is no worse than lying, sin is sin. And sin is NOT ok! Do not be deceived. We cannot change the Word of God to fit our lifestyles and help us to cope with sin. The Word of God is here to stay and doesn't change. Face up to it and be changed! Don't worry about the things you don't want to let go. Focus on God... His wants, desires and likes will become yours! His dislikes will become yours! This status was a little hard for me to post... but It's time that someone says something and stands up for God. Not that any of you aren't this is not directed to anyone specific, but rather a random ramble, something that is heavy on my heart right now. Thanks for reading!

What makes you think that God is NOT working in these gay christians lives to change them for the better? God works on all of us continually, each one of us, every day. Yes, being gay and living that lifestyle is wrong, but who's to say that they aren't trying to rely on God to take the lust for that lifestyle away from them? God hates the sin, NOT the sinner. Like you said, God does not change us literally overnight. It takes a good length of time because wants and habits and urges are difficult to overcome. A gay person can repent of their lifestyle and become a christian. I'm sure Jesus would never shun a gay person simply because they are gay, so we being in Jesus' image, cannot shun them either. Judge not, lest you be judged is what the bible says.

I would still say that they have a wrong view of their identity, your never a "gay" christian - your a Christian who has struggled with sin, like all have - now the deeps of the flesh should be less and less in regards to frequency and defeat. But to say I am a "gay" christian is like saying I am a Fornicating Christian, kind of oxymorons or I am a Murdering Christian.

This does not promote sin killing in someones life either - which it's either you by God's grace and Spirit kill your sin, or it will kill you

:) I never said that God would shun someone or that He isn't working in their lives. I'm talking about the churches that allow gay preachers to preach The Word and say that being gay is ok... because it isn't. I'm certain you have taken that wrong or read it wrong because I wasn't judging. :) If God would shun gay people and not use them then He should shun all of us because as I said sin is sin. I love gay people and I love everyone. I just don't get how people can say that it is ok. :) Thank you for your input.

But sadly, there are people out there saying that they are "gay" Christians and preachers that say that its ok, despite The Word of God.

Yes, but to continually take part in such acts and lifestyles after repenting... I'm not saying that they or we wont mess up, we all do. But to continually do so... just doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe they figure that even though the preachers are gay, they can still give just as good a sermon as before..? LOL. :) I have alot of gay neighbors here, and I know two transsexuals and at least one hermaphrodite. Some people just dont care if others are gay or not.. For example, let's say you go to your favorite hair salon to have your hair done and get a manicure and pedicure. You find out that she or he recently turned gay. Does she seem to cut your hair differently than when she was still straight? Does she paint your nails differently now? Some people would stop going to that hairstylist simply because they turned gay, but others wouldnt care and would still go there. :) We are supposed to love unconditionally like Jesus did but it seems some of us have "selective love." "I love this one cuz she's straight but I hate that one cuz he's gay." I mean really? We are to love ALL people.

Outside the Church God judges, but 1 Corinthians 5:13 says remove the evil one from among you.

well, you have to kind of " walk the line". you should not say that this or any sin is o.k. , but we also should not be mean and say things like God hates you. pray for them and remember to show them how a Christian should act and love.

What kind of confuses me is that homosexuality is a definition of a persons sexuality. The reason we refer to it as a community is because of the violence against the particular way of being I think. Its a stand to be that way despite violent and hateful persecution. We define ourselves as Christian, and we define ourselves as believers of the Lord. If someone were to be a gay Christian, it is like having two names to define the individual, isn't it?
All that being said I am very mindful to be loving if I am around a gay person. The Lord said if we love everyone, righteous or unrighteous we can become children of the Father, who also loves and cares for the righteous and the unrighteous. And when it comes down to it no person can boast about their righteousness, so love for all beings becomes the greater focus.
Hope this helps.

I'm not out picketing like Westboro, saying that God hates people of bisexual or gay sexual orientation... I'm simply stating that I don't understand it. I don't understand how someone who claims to be a Christian (which is translated CHRIST LIKE, the Bible tells us how to be so) supports and/or is active in such things. It doesn't even have to be about homosexuality! Geez, it can be ANY sin! Why are we continually engaging in these sins! YES, we should love everyone. I do love everyone (attempt to, because I'm not perfect) So I would greatly appreciate if you don't... SIGH like I've done something wrong. It may not be the nicest way to approach it, I'm aware. God has set us, as Christians, apart from the rest of the world, meaning that we shouldn't be in the world.

Come on, you know that's not what it says "Judge not, lest you be judged" is just saying you'll be judged for using judgment? How could we function without ever using any judgment? I understand what you're saying, and agree for the most part, but I can't stand seeing this verse used out of context.

Matthew 7:1-2
1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

It is about not judging hypocritically, not never judging at all. I would hope you knew all this already, so I wasn't trying to "teach" you or anything. I just can't help correcting this any time I see it. Sorry, no offence is intended.

Jimbone, of course I already knew that. I meant we should not judge someone just because they are gay, or black, or have AIDS, or whatever example you want to use. We are not to judge others, is that not what Jesus himself said? Only God has the privilege of judging us. And yes however harshly we judge others, is the same standard we will also be judged by. We are TO USE judgement, but NOT to judge others. That would be like me saying that I'm judging you for smoking cigarettes or looking at porn. (This is just an example). Or you judging me for doing drugs or living with a boyfriend. (Again, this is an example. I don't do drugs and I don't have a bf). So if we say to each other, "your a bad person because you do drugs and you look at porn, then someday God will say to each of us, "your sin is no worse than his or hers, so why did you judge him/her"?

** no offense to gay, black or AIDS-infected people, or people with dyed hair! These were only examples. :)

And no offense taken, Jimbone. I always like to be corrected when I'm mistaken on something. :)
