I recently watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Although I thought it seemed really stupid and refused to pay money to see it, I actually quite enjoyed it and found myself pondering some pretty deep questions- like what it really means to be made in God's image. There's more to that movie than I originally thought.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I refused to watch it cause it sounded like a stupid kid movie, but i got wrangled into watching it. And yes, it is a stupid kid movie, but it was also really funny. Clean movie, too. Definately a good one to watch with a friend.

It depends what genre you're looking for, because you've listed several different ones there.

I'm a bit of a movie buff (and filter for ill movies), so I'd be happy to suggest some to you. I just need something a little more specific than this.

*sigh* Okay...lol. That doesn't necessarily help, but let me list just a few 'in general' good ones.

Hachi: A Dog's Tale - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secretariat_(film)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladiator_(2000_film)

Braveheart - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagine_That_(film)

WALL-E - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lord of the Rings film trilogy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schindler's List - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now, this group is only one cheerio from the whole box, but I'll be happy to suggest more based off you seeing these, and your thoughts about what you do and don't like in a movie.

I also noticed you listed anime movies. While I would tread with caution in that area...here are a few I found to be good.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whisper_of_the_Heart_(film)

Arrietty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

5 Centimeters Per Second - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grave of the Fireflies - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Summer Wars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Again, if you give me more specifics of what you like, I can tailor movie recommendations to your particular taste.

My tastes are eclectic, so I recommend nearly everything; however, I do my best to stay away from what is evil, disturbing (without good reason), blasphemous, and other such negative content.

Arrietty wasn't that good, in my opinion. There are better versions of the borrowers, and Ghibli has done much better work, in general.

Just my two cents.

I am going to repeat sine of the movies asifinpassing mentioned just to make sure you see it
Grave of the fireflies (Drama),
Bravheart (Drama, Action, History)
Schindlers list (Drama, History)

if you want to get absolutely furious you can watch Song for a raggy boy

Some other movies:
Pay it forward (drama)
The perfect stranger (drama, christian)
Tintin (Adventure, animated)

I actually prefered the Ghiblil version of Arrierty to 'The Borrowers' film, and especially like their portrayal of her vs. the other. Again, I did mention that I'm trying not to list anything blaphemous, so while Ghibli does have other great anime...they certainly aren't God honoring.

I understand where you're coming from, though.

oh i've seen almost all of these and i agree with this list :))
i love wall-e so captivating and hachi: a dog's tale very heartwarming, i used to cry when i watched this.
schindler's list a very good too, but it's really the hardest movie to watch :(
braveheart was really great modern epic
gladiator..its pretty violent, but it also has a good moral..

yes please.. hmm..okay i don't like the movie that has brutal violence deaths/murder and horror. Can you suggest good story, decent pacing and great ending movie?
