In the Psalm 91 v 1 we read, "He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Jesus said in Matthew 6 v 6, "But you, when you pray, enter into your closet and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. But when you pray do not use empty repetitions as the heathen do (meditation mantras): they think they will be heard for speaking a lot. Don't be like them: for Your Father knows the things you need, before you ask Him."
This puts a prime necessity of belonging to the Family of God - You must be born again John 3 v 3 to 7. and John 1 v 12 & 13. After that we need to choose a place where we can be alone with God and shut out all others. Intimacy follows naturally as we now begin to speak to the Father. This will always be a very personal experience and may vary in content from time to time, but it is always special. As with all relationships it gets better and better all the time.
However there is also the great joy experienced when believers gather together in His presence and become the dwelling place of God, The temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 3 v 16 so that we exhorted "not to forsake the Assembling of ourselves together" Hebrews 1 v 25. For we are a Royal Priesthood a Holy nation and a peculiar people who should demonstrate the praise of our God.

I havn't found the answer yet but this is pretty close of how I have felt many times. Scripture says, "he is near to them of a broken heart. That hurts and who do we go to but the Lord. It's the brokeness of the pain goes to the throne, and that open crevice or the broken piece is the way in of the HOly spirit to speak, and reveal truth, and peace. As the scripture says, break up the fallow ground. WE need to cultivate all the hard soil hardness of unforgiveness, and bitterness out, their like the stones, in the soil, weeds, and cultivate the good soil. There's a scripture that says, the word was sown on stony ground, and the birds came and picked it up. The word was sown on shallow ground, and it didn't take root because of the cares, pleasures, of life. The word was sown on good soil and the roots, went deep, and that person became rooted and grounded, and when the storms of life came, the wind shook but the roots were deep into the soil, just as the story of the man who built his house upon the sand, and the waves came, and away it went, but the man who built his house upon the rock, symbolizing Christ, it stood. For no foe shall withstand the power of the almighty.

yes that psalm the 91 is like an unbreakable concrete wall against all evil. It is God's Authority, and his power, proclaimed I apply this to my life and my loved ones, always.

Our place if intimacy starts with relationship with the Father and is expressed in our fellowship with His children. To God be all the glory.
