Is reading about sex sinful?

Personally, I believe that there is one sexual position. There is much to this reasoning that I'm not going to go into here, but there are many perversions to intimacy that the world has invented and encouraged. Sexual intimacy is a beautiful thing and looking into the worlds definitions and discussions of different positions is, I believe, a form of voyeurism. Of course, many here feel I'm a prude due to my stands on holiness and purity, so take what I say with a grain of liberal salt. ;)

Other thing's I'm curious about are geology in tropical climates/island as well as space.
I have devoted my self to God and to learning as much about the world that he made for us as well as what "makes it tick."
So this week you're studying geology, cosmology, and sex?

That seems like an awful lot to do at once.

If you just talk to your wife enough, she'll probably inform you of whatever SHE wants you to know about sex.

That leaves geology and cosmology.
Just pick one and start at the beginning.

The OP is married and obviously knows about what sex is and how to do it. LOL.. he doesn't need to read about sex..as for teaching children sex ed in school, that doesn't even happen in many schools. It's NOT a required course. btw, 50 shades is basically porn.. :/

I'm not saying that sex outside of marriage is right. But as imperfect humans, people do make mistakes. That's why we are able to repent.
Fornication is not a mistake, its a choice. Fornication does not just happen out of no where (like stubbing ones toe), there are many steps that lead to it, and if a man goes out and buys condoms, then he clearly knows that he is taking steps towards fornicating. If he sees where he is heading and chooses to go there anyways, the choice is his own, and I have no sympathy for him.

Depending on one's state of being, reading about sex may be one of the first steps towards fornication, as thought necessarily precedes choice. If the OP knows that he is likely to give in to such temptations he would be better to keep his mind from the subject entirely. "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." But if he is strong in will and needs to learn something for a greater ends, then he should proceed, but always checking his motives.

Well I disagree completely. Unless you don't care about sin or don't believe in it, ALL sins are mistakes. No christian WANTS to sin. As I said, we are all imperfect humans. You also do not seem to understand Determinism. I don't think any of us had any choice in anything we do at all....but that is sort of digressing from the point so I will abandon that topic and just close with saying fornication is no different than gluttony, for example. People don't over eat (generally) on purpose. People have different addictions and different issues and they do something and quickly regret it right after. Sex is no different. If a young couple's desires overwhelmed them, for example, the desire was stronger than they had power/control to resist. They had no choice. But, of course, just because we have no choice, doesn't mean it is right/wrong. Same with gluttony.

Haha no not quite, first off I'm not married so I don't have a wife, second my interest in geology and space is professional, I'm a researcher by profession.

I suspect, that were one to seek it out, there is a plethora of documented research on reading about sex and it's correlation to sinfulness...........but, now, that may just be me

You forget that it is hard to have documented scientific research on the sinfulness of anything. While most science doesn't directly contradict the Bible, (unless you make it) scientists tend to shy away from researching religious subjects.

I would say it's only sinful if the viewer has lust in their mind for Jesus said "any man who look upon a woman with list has committed adultery in his heart".
