(I wrote this poem back in January 2011 when I was coming back to God
and I was doing my best to let a lot of things and friends go, which was very hard
for me, but God is faithful with what we give him, he handles things better than we can anyway)

I'm gonna let all my dreams go..
even though I dearly Love them so,
I cast my cares on you O Lord,
I spare nothing my surrender is all
I could afford

I lay love on the alter, and bind it
with cord, as it lays there in sorrow,
as to why I ignored,
I know that when I raise my hand
and give all to God,
God will save love and love will
live on.

I want to know this Jesus, the
prince of peace, and King of Kings,
the Lord of lords, my whole
heart sings

why does my heart still have a fear
perhaps true trust is needed
please O God sing to me
and always draw me near,

let there be no man no idol no
dreams, nor any of the sort,
let me always stand in your
holy presence in your court.

Let me not be tempted by the evils
and break your heart oh Lord,
let me be strong
and always sing your song.

For the will of the Lord is perfect
the will of the Lord is good,
even though the will is often misunderstood.
For there is hope!
There is a future, and life as he had
promised, O lord
Let me finish the race, for it is worth

This is my version of a love poem I guess... It's more like the opposite of a love song. If you steal it, a small goblin-like lemur will lay parasitic eggs in your lower intestine next time your naked.

Combat the heathens
Through the impulse of this understatement

Long live the carbon
From the cell walls that have fallen
Let the target intercede

Let the moppet sew its seed
Into the ditches that you scraped
I contemplate your buried face
Incarcerated for this deed

Deep windows invade
My peripheral gaze
Into a memory of augoeides
I crossed eternity once
But, I was grafted the tongue
Out of your garden snake mysterion

When pain is all that I can steal
I chase away what's always real
Will I sanitize this pestilence
Or damage your environment?

This is a scripture for myself, I know God is with me his word keeps me going that he knows better than I.

The Mask - by Lowanla (me) - Its not really a poem..more like random thoughts

It presses against my face
and there are holes for my eyes
I can't let them see me they might laugh
a tormenting question comes who am I again?
I am the mask and under it I am safe.

If I take off the mask will they love me?
truly or will they run away and leave me alone

I fear and dread the mirror I love her
she understands me and makes me smile
I am also afraid however for when I peer
into the reflective gaze that is me

I shall see the truth I shall see me
the lovely mirror I admire under the mask
I've fooled her for she see's me
as the mask and I feel normal

I feel so alone under the mask
this is all I feel I can be I am afraid
is this who I was meant to be?

God: *appears before me and the mirror shatters
into a million pieces I cry as my hands bleed
trying to pick up what I feel was stolen from me*

Why Oh why...I begin to cry
my heart pulsates and beats through my chest
and my grief is in full form
this was just enough..just for me

why oh why...

God: ... *waves his hand and my mask
breaks slowly cracking into pieces*

my mask falls off my face baring who I am
my skin shows, the cool breeze touches my face
and suddenly in fear I begin to slowly
feel even more free

the process is painful yet slow
God works like a surgeon revealing
to me day by day
he is restoring me to someone
...to someone..

he created me to be.

I need not the mirror God put her there
for my benefit just to keep me going till
his hand broke through

I begin to see his plan
I begin to see myself
I develope new faith
and when I look at him

I am free to be...me.

Footprints in the Sand - Poem By Mary Stevenson

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

Those prints are large and round and neat,
"But Lord they are too big for feet."

"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."

"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know.
So I got tired, I got fed up,
and there I dropped you on your butt."
