Sometimes it seems like a catch-22, in my humble opinion. If a person starts a new thread, they are sometimes told there have already been several threads on that subject started and they should do a search for them. If a person resurrects an old thread, they are sometimes told that it is old and they should let it die.

Personally, I don't mind someone bringing an old thread back instead of starting a new thread. The only thing that annoys me are when people constantly respond to a thread they started to keep it on the front page of the forum. This keeps newer subjects pushed back to the 2nd or 3rd page and I usually don't go that far when I am looking at threads to respond to.

Just my two cents....which is really not worth much at all:)

Blessings to all.
gravedigging is bad. always has been. reason people are told to search is cause the question may have been asked and answered 10 million times now. and seeing the same question over and over and over and over gets old quick.

Would you like to hear "what is 2+2?" 100 times a day? no. same with forums.

For those who don't know what Necroposting is, it pretty much involves the act of bringing an extremely dead thread back to activity again. Meaning, if it has not been responded to for at least a month or so, then it is considered a "dead post". How do you feel when you see others bringing up old threads from say...like 2010? What threads to you find more annoying to be "brought back up" again?
I just noticed you brought back a "dead" one in the new members forum.

You can't win both of these worlds Jimmy. One or the other. Choose wisely.

Thank you so much for the smile:) I am a math teacher and do get tired of being asked the exact same question over and over and over and over......................

I've always wondered how a band can do the same songs for decades without getting sick of it. It comes in remembering that even tho they've done it to death, out in the audience are people for whom it's the first time hearing it. One TV station put it succinctly when they bought the rights to an old show - if you haven't seen it before, it's new to you!
