He already did it. There is no need to keep Him on the cross like Catholics do. Jesus now SITS at the right Hand of the Father. He already paid the sin debt. "It is finished." Those were His words. Before I believed, long before I came to believe, I wondered like you do about why He had to do it. Your last statement to Annointed makes no sense. We cannot acknowledge ourselves a sinner without having a sense of some measure of personal responsibility.
I was taught when he died for our sins he died once and for all of them. Past, present and future. @dcontroversal; Here's your specialty.
AMEN.....PAID IN FULL is clear enough......and for believers......where sin abounds, GRACE abounds the MORE..........

Either JESUS paid the sin debt of the world, and this is applied by faith and when God sees the blood he will pass over us or...no one is saved and everyone will bust hell wide open when they die................

The bible is clear and after salvation the only bearing sin has on a believer is fellowship and reward..........SIN is not the issue.....faith is.....

ALL that place JESUS back on the cross when we sin have no understanding of the word!!

I was a professing Christian once, but I never surrendered to Jesus. I think I never got to that stage because I was very concerned with the concept of accepting the torture of another human being, for the sake of myself.

What else can I say?
Not sure what you can say, but I will say....Get right....time is short and Jesus went to the cross to please the Father..........if you have not trusted Christ do so today....why....because hell is HOT and the LAKE-O-FIRE is forever and will be no party......!!!!

Thank's bro. I got sick and tired of his sarcasim." The word says "Be angry but do not sin, do not the sun go down on your wrath. I got angry and rebuked him. I should have said "the Lord rebuke you." I think he bugged out. PTL!

If we were to defend the Bible, don't defend it verse by verse, defend passage by passage, since they are in context,

Speaking of which, is there a clear range of old testament verse reference for the genealogy of Matthew and Luke?

King Herod is bad, but necessary to fulfill the prophesies

Defending is a lot of work

The Pauline Epistles, explains the Gospel more in depth

The new testament is everything for the soul

The Bible is a spiritual book, spiritual is different from physical, therefore lean not on things own understanding and it is spiritually discerned

Which magnify possibility, which helps defend the Bible

Some language are figurative, some literal,

More possibility = increased defense of Bible

Oh, the Bible says, "do not throw pearls to pigs or give to dogs what is sacred", and James 4:7 - if you know the good you ought to do

Hmm ...

The only "contradiction" is my action that need to conform back to Word

Do I want to try to be a nice guy and try to defend the Bible, or obey James 4:7

Dilemma, dilemma, dilemma

Let me ask you a serious question.

Doesn't accepting and venerating the torture of someone for your sakes, make all Christian's sadistic?

That's as nice as I can put it blue_ladybug.
No, it should make all Christians grateful.

No, it should make all Christians grateful.
Grateful that someone was tortured & everyone's pain piled upon them, then killed?

Sounds pretty sadistic to me, but what do I know.

If John 3:16 is Central in the Gospel, of the whole Bible, I have finally defended it

For God so love the world ... (And let's say how God will express that love)

That he gave his one and only son, <-- Jesus came to Earth

That whosoever believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life <-- the gospel

I can't defend this part, I just believe

@Riven

Consider this, imagine the father having the logic, "I cannot accept the child being born, just because my wife experienced a lot of pain giving birth"

What king of father would that be? Basing the decision solely on the pain from pregnancy

And equate the child as birth pain

For God so loved the world that he tortured himself to save yourself from an eternity of torture.

Wow!
