here's another of my poems for you guys...this one was written in high school for my best friend who moved away at the end of the school year...
Friendship Missed

I was always a person
That didn't love others;
Never cared about friendship,
Never let anybody get close.

But then one day, I found out
To my dismay I had a friend.

But one regret
I'll never repress;
I was too blind to love
A friend departing.
Maybe someday, I don't know when,
I'll be able To love again.

aww sad.

Looking back on the years,
I remember a pale, lifeless child.
So broken down and tormented.
Death was always in the back of her mind,
never feeling the self-worth God had intended for her.

As she grew, it seemed her world was falling apart,
she knew of your love and promise
but never felt that she deserved it.
So many times she drew the knife, taunting her body,
in her mind she was ready to end it all.

Hell, is the reason the knife never touched her fragile skin,
she knew there was so much more to live for,
even if she didn't see what it was yet.
There was still this tiny bit of hope,
a little ray of light in her life.

It was her first night at youth,
her friends were there, laughing and having fun.
As awkward as she felt she put on her fake smile,
and mingled in as if she had gone there for forever.
She was the church goer, but not the believer.

As she went she craved more...
more worship, more Bible lessons, more fellowship
she wanted it all, her heart began to light up.
This is the love she heard about, the promise God made,
and she wanted it, more then anything.

One night, Jesus came knocking at her heart,
and it was her turn, to open up and let him in.
On bended knees, and flowing tears,
she asked for forgiveness and professed her love.
Giving her life to the LORD, to live for him.

Looking back on the years,
the lifeless child, has found self-worth.
She has found her purpose in life, and never again.
Will she leave the side of God,
for he is the one guiding her to Heaven.

hey y'all here's another one

Love, Bittersweet

It takes two to tango
In this slow and painful dance,
In a bittersweet romance,
That never stood a fighting chance.
Love can be a funny thing?
More often like a heart breaking
Hopeless feeling.
Take the vow-Til death do us part,
Afterward your partner steps on your heart.
For a select few-love is great.
But for a passionate majority-
A dreaded fate.
Love is patient, love is kind,
Beware in trust and compasion,
Love can steal you blind.
To love again is to trust again,
To trust again is to know again,
To know again is to be one again,
To be one again is to be whole again,
Being whole again is understanding,
Understanding will lead to forgiving,
And forgiving to loving.

Okay guys, this one is called Rainbows. I dedicated it to my grandfather when he passed away about 15 years ago. I ended up given it to my grandmother in honor of him. The idea was to paint a picture of how very short life really is. The Bible says that compared to eternity, our lives are like a "mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." -James 4:14. God has prepared us for eternity. He doesn't want us to put off thinking about our own mortality, like many people tend to do. He wants us to look it square in the face, and be at peace with knowing that His Son has already conquered it for us. Anyway, here is Rainbows

A special gift from the heavens,
Molded with His own two hands.
Each, in it's own way, is absolute perfection,
For the beauty each holds is unlike the rest.
Yet, all are beautiful, just the same.
Their wondrous brilliance shines for all to see.
The hearts and souls of men are touched,
While the sight is there to behold.
But, these gifts do not belong to this earth,
So we must take notice before their departure.
For as quick as a breath of exhilaration,
The beauty is gone from our eyes.
Nothing left but the memories,
Embedded in our hearts forever.

When we look back at those before us who trod this road,
when we remember their cares and heavy load,
we know that for them it was not an easy journey,
but they remain shining examples for us to see.
God was always there beside them,
and he remain there until their end.
Whatever trials they faced,
their faith in God was never erased.
They kept standing still,
and doing God's will,
trusting God to lead them through,
and to their strength renew.
Now they have long since been gone,
but their influence still live on.
We can choose to follow after them,
or live lives in the end to be condemn.
