Should definitely check for updates. I have 6.0, but I don't know if you can or how new your phone is, etc. 5.0 came out two years ago, so I would think you would at least be able to update to that.
I'm so clueless. I don't know how to check for updates with this phone. It's so different from my other one. This Android phone is a ZTE Fit 4G Smart, v.4.4.4. I believe it's a mid-2015 model.

I started playing Pokemon Go today. 3 hours while at work, I got 12 different monsters, 2 eggs, and level 5. Sorry, but I already chose Instinct. Ftw

Try backing up your pokemon app to an SD card. and either uninstall/reinstall it or clear the app cache....that may help with disfunctioning apps :)
Hi brother. I've no tried all of those options and it's still not working. Humbled servers, indeed!

Yay. Hope it works.

I won a gym battle yesterday! And it was a buddhist temple too. LOL.
Thanks, Abing. Unfortunately, it did nothing. So I emailed Niantic, Inc. this message. Hopefully, they can help me out.

I have now been unable to play Pokemon Go for well over a week. When I try to log in with my Google account I keep receiving the humbled servers screen. This is frustrating. My friends have no problems accessing the game. Can you help me? My phone is an Android, version 4.4.4. Thanks.

Day 3, I'm about 2000 exp from level 10, but it is raining today, and I don't own an umbrella. I really need to invest in some gear to play Go in all weather conditions.

Hello Pokefriends! My Chinese friend showed me this video of Pokemon Go in Taiwan:

Someone spotted a Snorlax and the rest of the people followed. T_T I think this is sad. I mean, if you look at the video, crowds like that can be the a terrorist's dream. Maybe we could pray for them xD.

Thanks, Abing. Unfortunately, it did nothing. So I emailed Niantic, Inc. this message. Hopefully, they can help me out.

How is it?

Niantic, Inc. are the most useless company in the history of gaming (in terms of communication)!

I click the button to sign in with Google and then it goes straight to the humbled servers screen. It's not that I have to start all over again (I hope I wasn't banned, I haven't cheated), it's that I can't get beyond the servers down screen. This update is the worst!

Their reply to my initial email:

Trainer,

Thanks for contacting us regarding your sign in issue with Pokémon GO. If you’ve signed into Pokémon GO and it appears that gameplay progress has been reset, be assured that your gameplay progress has NOT been lost. It remains safe and intact. You may have inadvertently created a new Pokémon GO account by unintentionally signing in with a different email address or login method.
If you haven’t already, please try the following:
* iOS users: Please review the login tips outlined in the Pokémon GO Help Center (https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/224047008).
* Google Account users: If you’ve signed into Pokémon GO using your Google Account and it appears that you’re level 1, you may not be signing into Pokémon GO using the correct Google Account. Please try signing into any alternate accounts you may have used to create your Pokémon GO account.
* All Trainers: Keep in mind, there are two login methods for Pokémon GO. Trainers can use their Google Account or their Pokémon Trainer Club account to create a Pokémon GO account. If you create an account with one login method and later attempt to use the other login method, a second account is created. To resolve this issue, log out of your account then log back in using your original login method.

Please note: for security reasons, we’re unable to provide you with the email address you use to sign into your account.

I work full time and I play Pokemon Go in my spare time and on weekends. I mean, it's far better than going to a bar scene...I'm literally walking about 6 miles on the weekends. I've lost weight. I'm exploring parks that I otherwise wouldn't have. I'm mingling and being social (which is tough for me to do sometimes).

I think it gets an unfair bad rap.

Anytime you get millions of people involved in something, you're bound to have people who are irresponsible (driving while playing, trespassing, etc.) Just logistics; I don't think it's a true part of the "culture".

Also, #TeamInstinct. :p

I'm level 18 but I don't know how much longer I will continue to play because it has gotten to the point that it's too much work for too little reward. All I ever find any more on the commens...rats pigeons weedles...ect...

I am not a big fan of Pokémon Go at all. I have never played it and never will. It has caused many people doing stupid things and getting themselves killed or nearly killed. You would think people would have common sense while playing but they really don't.

It also seems like the game is starting to die down now which is great. I don't think it will last so long. People get bored of things quick.

I believe the popularity is waning partly due to what I mentioned above. It takes an absurd amount of XP to level with little to no reward. The rare Pokemons are almost impossible to find so people are getting bored with it

People cause those things, not the game lol. It may quiet down for a bit, all games do, but I doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon. Things like trading, Pokemon battles, legendary Pokemon, and new Pokemon(there's more than 700) being introduced will keep this game popular for a while. They've barely gotten started.

Day6, level 18. Pidgeys, weedles, caterpees are the best. Unless you have time to hit a couple dozen stops a day, then you just catch em all. I have a growing list of monsters that I just ignore.

PVP battles!!! That's one I'm very excited for. Also, trading! And whaddyaknow maybe even professional pokemon gyms lol.

Waaaaaaat. I'm stuck at level 18. Mostly because I got tired of catching pidgey. It's also kinda hard for me to set a time to go hunting at great spots. But next week, a few friends from work and I will go biking (to hatch some eggs) and catch pokemon at a nearby park. They say the park's also a pikachu nest, so hopefully, I'll get my very first pikachu.
