REDUCE - Reduce the amount of disposables you intake.
BUY IN BULK - buy often used foods in bulk
1. Use reusable bulk containers, either jars for herbs or sacks
for oatmeal, etc.
2. Do not buy small packages, ie candy bars, or "snack packs" due
to all the extra packaging.
DON'T BUY EXTRA EQUIPMENT - Why buy a pancake maker, Quesadilla maker, or
any other "maker" when you can do it with stuff you already have?

IMPULSE SHOPPING - You don't need that Dollar Tree Christmas ornaments, or
snow globe, or random trash gifts, no one needs those and they will be in a
yardsale soon.

MICROWAVE or STOVE - If you don't need to reheat leftovers then why waste
the power.

NO DISPOSABLE CUTLERY OR PLATES - its obvious, waste and cost over time
compared to washing dishes (correctly).

BUY REUSABLE or RECYCLABLE - If it can be reused later or at worst
recycled then keep in mind to buy that instead of the throw away wrapping
or plastic container.
1. Avoid certain plastic #'s
2. Avoid "candy bar like" wrappers, one time use stuff.

REUSE - Use containers that are reusable
JARS - I mean salsa jars, mason jars, anything glass that can be used for
dry or wet ingredients, and can use for non-food storage.

PLASTICS - containers of all sorts like glass, just less safe for food but
non-food storage is all the rave.

NON-RECYCLABLE - try to find a clever way to reuse stuff like Styrofoam for
insulation.

RECYCLE - Recycle all non-reusable materials
AVOID HAVING TO RECYCLE - due to the fact that it uses energy to transport,
and process the materials.

LAST RESORT RECYCLE - Obviously recycle if its unavoidable.

COMPOST - If you have food waste, which you shouldn't, then just compost it.

BUY LOCAL - Money that goes back into the community! Also you can develop
a friendship with local farmers and those who work at the market

GROCERY'S - Usually grown organic or naturally, money goes to hard working
and caring farmers, and usually more social then going to a superstore where
a machine checks you out or just low paid workers who mostly want you to
hurry up due to the mass amount of people in and out, bless them for dealing
with the chaos.

EMPLOYEE OWNED - Not the best but better then mainstream superstores where
all the money goes to corporation.

This is not exhaustive by any means it was written off the top of my head lemme know what you think.
I believe God gives us humble wisdom to respect all he has created, even how to be wise against evil
corporations and being involved in our community more in these ways as well.

One of the first thing God is going to do when He returns is to destroy the destroyers.

You find this in Revelation.

Ahh yes, I found it thanks!
Revelation 11:18 "And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."

You may also find in the Old TEstament in at least two instances where it is foretold the "earth lies polluted under its inhabitants for the fruit of their doing."

REUSABLE - Swap plastic water bottles with reusable stainless steel or glass.
NO more plastic straws, swap out for stainless steel, bamboo, or glass.
SHOPPING BAGS - No more plastic bags, get those reusable ones which places like
Winco will give .06 cents per bag while purchasing, I have found one for .50
cents second hand and have already made my money back.

Plastic water bottles and juice jugs are re-usable. I use them all the time to make up water and juice. :) I use the eco-friendly bags when I shop, and I use the plastic grocery bags my folks give me, for trash bags..

Some of the items in the first post are good advice for anyone.

Some of the items in the first post are good for some people, but would not fit everybody's lifestyle.

All of the items in the first post should be considered for including in a person's lifestyle.

None of the items in the first post should be made into doctrine or heaven-or-hell issues. Nothing in Revelation has anything to do with this thread.

All these will save you money which means more for you or for charities, mission trips, church offerings, the poor. So I just wantd to share some things I am working on in my life on top of Bible study, doing good works, faith, etc.

"make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love."

I think most of these would be under "self control" and possibly "knowledge"

People, this is a thread about re-using, re-cycling and reducing household waste and such. This is NOT a thread about Revelation or law and grace.. lol

just try and 'live-green', in some ways, the benefits are definitely worth the effort,
which is minimal in God's reality, plus we are really doing it for Him...

Now if you really want to "save the planet", turn the power off and life off grid like I do.
Been 100% solar for 11 years now.

I am not sure why, but I just have a sensitive conscience when it comes to waste, especially food waste since there are so many starving people out there.
I have also done some street ministry of trash pickup with a youth group that i coordinated and it was fun and interesting, good fellowship and learning a little about recycling and seeing the nastiness of trash thrown everywhere.
It isn't preaching the gospel in a megaphone on the streets but its a small step in doing more then just playing video games or wasting time watching TV which I am sure some of those kids would of been doing, =P

All completely wise and true. Be careful though, the vast majority today will tell you the earth is theirs to dowhat they want because various denominational doctrines teach it is so........

Our Father has not given us gardens to destroy.

in a sense, without God's grace, our souls are going into the dumps, so God offer salvation to those that believe, hence saving souls from being dumped in the garbage, or in a sense we are seeing this as recycling

and the water cycle is also created by God as well
and the sun is also from God as well
