I don't use Uber but my random thought for the afternoon is that i ordered some coffee for my espresso machine.
It's been raining like crazy for days here so i've been indoors too much.
I guess the rains are needed to fill up the reservoirs but it'd be nice if i could have a little sun too.

I can't imagine living in England. No thank you.

Yeah, there's also the different video broadcast formats Pal Secam vs NTSC.
I like NTSC because it has 29 frames per second and Pal has 26.

One day I will do a monologue where I will defend American habits when Europeans complain about America.
I’m in a unique position because I’m a European living in USA.
But there’s no such thing anyway, Americans are all Europeans. So we’re comparing neighborhoods.
It’s kinda like when Brits call themselves European. Lol. You’re on an island man, driving on the wrong side of the road using weird measurement systems ! Give me a break.

It's 24 or 28 C here and supposed to be even hotter tomorrow (29). 28 C is 82.4 F .;)

24 is about as hot as I like it... different sites give different temps...

I hope you have a nice time with your church visit!

I visited there with a friend many years ago. Their mass was in Latin and I didn't understand a word they said, but the church was beautiful, as is much of Newport.

THE WORK OF HAPPINESS
by May Sarton

I thought of happiness, how it is woven
Out of the silence in the empty house each day
And how it is not sudden and it is not given
But is creation itself like the growth of a tree.
No one has seen it happen, but inside the bark
Another circle is growing in the expanding ring.
No one has heard the root go deeper in the dark,
But the tree is lifted by this inward work
And its plumes shine, and its leaves are glittering.

So happiness is woven out of the peace of hours
And strikes its roots deep in the house alone:
The old chest in the corner, cool waxed floors,
White curtains softly and continually blown
As the free air moves quietly about the room;
A shelf of books, a table, and the white-washed wall —
These are the dear familiar gods of home,
And here the work of faith can best be done,
The growing tree is green and musical.

For what is happiness but growth in peace,
The timeless sense of time when furniture
Has stood a life’s span in a single place,
And as the air moves, so the old dreams stir
The shining leaves of present happiness?
No one has heard thought or listened to a mind,
But where people have lived in inwardness
The air is charged with blessing and does bless;
Windows look out on mountains and the walls are kind.

From 'spitting' on a bride in Greece to ALWAYS passing port to the left in the UK: Fascinating map reveals the most surprising etiquette practices around the world.

Fascinating map reveals the world's most surprising etiquette practices, from the UK to the U.S | Daily Mail Online

A very interesting article, worth watching and laughing and talking about.
For example, spitting at a bride is done to Not Jinx her or Remove or Prevent Jinxing or Bad Luck. lol

The USA map is kinda sad in that world map. The only etiquette here is Tipping.
