I like to pay attention to the third verse in that passage....

God said, "I have filled him with knowledge and wisdom and....."

It was all about how God gave him the skills he had to do this work...

I find it to be an extremely interesting passage.
There aren't many people gifted in this way by God. (At least as mentioned in scripture)

I find him to be very unique....

Noah got instructions on how to build an ark...anyone else you think of gifted this way?
Interesting when Jesus came in the flesh gifts changed to 'Heavenly'? There are more verses but none appear to be relative to OT gifts. Makes me more certain that 'prosperity' preaching is wrong and all our science inspired innovations are suspect? Possibly Ezekiel 20th chapter refers to this.
Ezekiel 20:26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.

1 Corinthians 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

1 Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

1 Corinthians 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

I've been looking at gifts given by God for quite a while and scratching my head over all of it for years now...

One of the things I also studied was God's omnipotence....God is ALWAYS perfectly efficient in his use of giving gifts. No unintended side effects or spillover....

And so....I just don't understand the "why" at times for why God gives the gifts He gives....in the long run I'm sure it will be revealed but currently I'm still asking that question. It doesn't make sense to me at the moment. It's a very interesting puzzle at the moment...

This might be part of the puzzle.

Psalms 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psalms 73:3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Proverbs 24:1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
Proverbs 24:19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;

Excerpt of Psalm 73>>>>>NLT
when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness.

4They seem to live such painless lives;

their bodies are so healthy and strong.

5They don’t have troubles like other people;

they’re not plagued with problems like everyone else.

6They wear pride like a jeweled necklace

and clothe themselves with cruelty.

7These fat cats have everything

their hearts could ever wish for!

8They scoff and speak only evil;

in their pride they seek to crush others.

9They boast against the very heavens,

and their words strut throughout the earth.

10And so the people are dismayed and confused,

drinking in all their words.

Not quite the aspect I was looking at...

Of course the heathen are going to be wealthy and try to make their lives sound wonderful....HA! I know better about a life that has no hope beyond having another thrill but still living a life of avarice.

Go figure, my neighbor gives me a croissant type bread with cheese and Jalapeno pepper baked in.

What about baking apple slices and cheddar into bread.

Man bowls perfect game backward

On Nov. 19, Jim Cripps of Pleasant View, Tennessee, became the first bowler to throw a sanctioned 300 bowling backward.

“It’s been 20-plus years I’ve been chasing that thing,” the 44-year-old said. “It was a solid game.”

Cripps said his backward bowling began when friends ribbed him about his normal bowling.

“It was a bit of a male ego thing,” he said. “The first ball I threw that way was a strike. They told me I couldn’t do that again.”

Cripps also admits he’s been tossed out of several bowling alleys for what they perceived as horseplay.

True story; Knew and saw 'pro' bowler 280+ coach someone bowling at 100 and in 2 minutes of 'talking' bowling over 170. Psychological?

Maybe...maybe not.
I always do better with a coach giving me pointers and encouragement.

Census: Christians a minority in England; non-religious grow
Story by By JILL LAWLESS, Associated Press • 2h ago
LONDON (AP) — Fewer than half the people in England and Wales consider themselves Christian, according to the most recent census — the first time the country's official religion has been followed by a minority of the population.

FILE - The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby listens to debate at the General Synod in London, on Feb. 13, 2017. Less than half of people in England and Wales consider themselves Christian, according to the most recent census – the first time the country's official religion has been followed by a minority of the population. Figures from the 2021 census released Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, by the Office for National Statistics reveal that Britain has become less religious, and less white, in the decade since the last census in 2011. Britain has become less religious — and less white — in the decade since the last census, figures from the 2021 census released Tuesday by the Office for National Statistics revealed.
Some 46.2% of the population of England and Wales described themselves as Christian on the day of the 2021 census, down from 59.3% a decade earlier. The Muslim population grew from 4.9% to 6.5% of the population, while 1.7% identified as Hindu, up from 1.5%.
More than 1 in 3 people — 37% — said they had no religion, up from 25% in 2011.

The other parts of the U.K., Scotland and Northern Ireland, report their census results separately.

Secularism campaigners said the shift should trigger a rethink of the way religion is entrenched in British society. The U.K. has state-funded Church of England schools, Anglican bishops sit in Parliament’s upper chamber, and the monarch is “defender of the faith” and supreme governor of the church.
Andrew Copson, chief executive of the charity Humanists U.K., said “the dramatic growth of the non-religious” had made the U.K. “almost certainly one of the least religious countries on Earth.”
“One of the most striking things about these results is how at odds the population is from the state itself,” he said. “No state in Europe has such a religious set-up as we do in terms of law and public policy, while at the same time having such a non-religious population.”
Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell, one of the most senior clerics in the Church of England, said the data was “not a great surprise,” but was a challenge to Christians to work harder to promote their faith.
“We have left behind the era when many people almost automatically identified as Christian, but other surveys consistently show how the same people still seek spiritual truth and wisdom and a set of values to live by,” he said.
Almost 82% of people in England and Wales identified as white in the census, down from 86% in 2011. Some 9% said they were Asian, 4% Black and 3% from “mixed or multiple” ethnic backgrounds, while 2% identified with another ethnic group.

Great Britain 🇬🇧 was one of the last to have a "Reformation" and break away from Catholic Church/Roman Empire rule. Most of the rest of Europe had already done so. They weren't giving the poor box receipts, taxes, and tithes to the Catholic church...
Which did impoverish the Church greatly. England, Ireland and Scotland (Wales included) were with England when they did break away. The Catholic Church was rather lax in assisting the various kingdoms but extremely quick to increase taxes and tithes when they felt a pinch of finances. This coupled with the increased shipping and income these United kingdoms garnered on the world stage All of which led to the creation of the Church of England by Henry 8th.
Granted Henry was married to the Empiror's Daughter....but nothing that a scandalous charge of adultery couldn't fix. (Which he did...lousy kept secret)

Henry is the one who commissioned the Great Bible...the first authorized translation of scriptures into English. Now where today its considered to be important...at the timevit was symbolic more than functional as literacy rates were very low. Also most church services focused on The Book of Prayers and the Psalter. The morality lessons that are based on scriptures today were unheard of at that time.

So with this new found income the King proclaimed himself the Pope of his church and continued investment into his Naval Fleet. Which propelled England and all of Great Britain further into financial heights. Bloody Mary wanted to reunite with the Catholic church...but her short reign only created a small group of Bible readers who escaped her "bloody reign" to a mountainous town in Switzerland called Geneva. (She died of cervical cancer)

When Elizabeth (who had been imprisoned) was freed and began her rule of the Kingdoms she did nothing to promote Reformation nor did she hinder it in any fashion. And those people in Geneva used printing press technology and subsidies to make Bibles available for anyone who wished for a copy.

Thus legends of scholarship of world Explorers (Cook and many others) and Shakespeare were born. You probably have heard of many of them discovering parts of the America's and elsewhere.

Spain, the last holdout of the Catholic church and Roman Empire, deciding that they too needed a shipping fleet laid claim to much of South and Central America.

Catherine of Aragon - Wikipedia

Henry acknowledged her only as dowager princess of Wales. After being banished from court by Henry, Catherine lived out the remainder of her life at Kimbolton Castle, dying there in January 1536 of cancer. The English people held Catherine in high esteem, and her death set off tremendous mourning.[4] Her daughter Mary would become the first undisputed English queen regnant in 1553.

If it weren't for Mary there would have been no exiles.
If there weren't any exiles to Geneva there wouldn't have been a Geneva Bible.
The Geneva Bible was a major major influence in the English speaking world...even through the Founding of the USA.

It is a long, torturous trail that brought us to the scriptures we have today....Tyndale, Wycliffe, George and etc. Full of blood and pride. I'm not exactly sure it could have been done any other way by God...if there was I'm sure He would have found it.

I have found it to be helpful in reading the historic accounts of 'Christianity'. Fortunately, I have had the time to do so. But most of my reading has been on the wikipedia and some of the books on Internet Archive and other sites I have stumbled onto. Wiki is ok but requires piecing together and there are errors. Usually, discernible with a bit of accumulated background.
