I love to take photographs, too. I have been considering taking a photography class. I want to learn how to develop my own film, an art that seems to be getting lost in our age of technology.

I like to write poetry, take photographs, and make people laugh. clown school was pretty awesome :p
I enjoy photography which started when I began my sewing blog.

Making people laugh by having a sense of humor is a talent. Truly. Since visiting here, cannot count the number of times reading a post has made me laugh and encouraged my spirit. I have a sense of humor but have to say with mine ya gotta warm it up before it comes to the surface. I am not always as quick thinking and sharp as some on here are. :)

Clown school you say? Cool. Can I ask if it was the one hosted by Mooseburger based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota? By her website, she seems to have good clown camps and teaches quite a bit. Never been to one. I did clowning for children's ministry for a time. Clown's name was Bubbles. Love the song or little chorus, it's bubbling it's bubbling its bubbling in my soul....cannot remember the rest of it but the jest of it was about the joy of the Lord. My outfit was a floral skirt with a solid white lacy underslip and the lace at the edge showed through at the bottom of the skirt. A pretty floral shirt and a white pinafore with bright yellow lace. I had a multicolored wig and a white night hat which was trimmed in lace. Wore big plastic glasses, yellow tennis shoes with bells on them and colored gloves.

Enjoyed your sharing. :)

This may sound a bit boring... but I think my management and organization skills is often useful for others. :) I've helped to manage youth events, bands, bible studies... I don't necessarily know if its a talent, but it is something that I definitely enjoy doing for God. :)

Definitely a talent!!! I worked as a project assistant in a job where each year there was a meeting where all the members on the board would fly in from all over the states and meet for two to three days. I would have to plan the lodging, the meals, the meeting room, travel pay and vouchers, the flights to and from and take care of all the paperwork/books/notes/handouts needed for that meeting plus take care of all the follow up work done at the close of the meeting.

Being organized is good.

Hey, my unmentionables are organized by size and colors, folded neatly in the drawer (think US Army inspection days here), my closet (what little I own) is organized by color and item, my sewing inventory is organized by designer, color, name, my fabric and threads are stored by color and size. Kitchen pantry is organized by name, type, size.

Poor Gracie, even her little food bowls are so so on the food mat. LOL LOL :)

Bless you for doing that talent, when you do it as unto the Lord, others are blessed cuz they now it is done and done well. :)

Thanks for sharing. :)

Well...it happens that I like to write poetry also.
Writing tales sagas and short stories are also my specialty.

Expand that gift of yours for the sake of God's Kingdom.

C'est fantastique! Wunderbar! Impresionante! Meraviglioso!

Not boring at all. Your skills are so important. I have seen things that have been organized by people who are not very skilled at management and organization, I will nicely say that things did not go as smoothly as they should have.

What you have and enjoy are wonderful talents to have, God has to be smiling down on you every time you start to plan an event that will glorify Him.

That is fabulous! I lack the imagination to be a writer. Do you write a certain genre? I would love to hear about your short stories.

Threads like this give us an opportunity to express ourselves. I like them.

I can write music that I like to listen to. The style and sound of my music is not for everyone, but I can listen to it and be incredibly happy. I hope I pass on this ability to my daughter so that she can write her own music too. It's time to stop paying $$ for music that's entirely awful just to hear one good song.

I can slow down and patiently go over seemingly insignificant details and treat them as being crucial so I am capable of reaching conclusions that others can't when analysis is required. I enjoy solving recreational math problems.

My heart goes out to lonely kids who are outcasts and spend all their time crying about not having a girlfriend, and who spend all their time playing video games. I hope that one day I will be in a position to gather them up and show them that they can be whole without a girlfriend.

I love God's law and it gives me a sense of who God is and what his expectations are. I agree with the countless number of people who read the Psalms and, like David, see the beauty of God and His law. As such, I take pleasure in looking at the world and seeing God's law at work in every place.

You have some great talents, cyphercat. I think I remember you talking about your music before, it makes me so happy to hear that you are going to teach your daughter to write her own music as well. That would be a wonderfully creative outlet for her.

Hearing you talk about the lonely kids really touches me. I am a high school teacher and I know exactly the kids you are talking about. We have men in the community that come in and mentor these young men but, there never seem to be enough mentors. Please, stick with that goal. Making a difference in the life of a child is so fulfilling!

I have to be clean though. I can't do that kind of ministry if there's danger of my falling into drug abuse.
I want the tussin out of my life but I still have trouble.
All I'm doing is taking away from the time I could be spending changing lives with the help of God.
Pray that I would see the difference I could make so that the desire to help young men like me would outweigh any kind of anti-depressant feeling cough syrup might provide me with.

I have been praying for you daily since you came forward with your addiction. I know you will beat this, keep your face turned toward God. You can accomplish anything with His help. I know it is hard for you, any addiction is hard to overcome. Please know that I am sure you can beat this.

Once you have your life straight, imagine what an example you would be to young men! You will be able to speak to them about addiction from experience. Most young men think that adults don't have a clue about what they are going through. You will be able to relate to them and, hopefully, help them avoid what you are going through. I pray that you will be able to get clean for you and your daughter but, the added ability to give back to the community would please God even more.

Whatever you do, don't give up on your dream! I will be so happy to hear about your first mentoring experience once you are clean yourself. Do it for God, for yourself, for your daughter, and for the future generation.

I'm good with children and most people, so I use those gifts from God to teach Sunday school and I will be a Deacon again in the Spring.

What a fantastic thread, and fantastic replies as well. Talented bunch of people here!

I spent the last two years working at a high school, tutoring kids from poor households, other countries etc. With their Music and English. Providing one on one support also meant developing a friendship with them that other staff members can't really provide due to numbers. I found it has been a job I have absolutely loved and have found joy and success in. I also give singing lessons and have found that I seem to have a calling in teaching. I don't work there anymore, only to pursue a degree in teaching, specifically Drama and Music. I am thankful to have found a profession in which I can help people in such a scary time of life, and love every minute of it while doing so!

Although its just a hobby, I also love to get on stage and act/sing myself. I've been fortunate enough to work with some fantastic Australian actors and while it will never be more then just a hobby. I've been told I can sing and find it to be one of the most relaxing things in life.

Last year for Mothers Day I actually planned a surprise for my Mother. She told me once that all she wanted was to hear me sing so my brother took her to a local restaurant. Unknown to her I had gone to the owners a few days prior and provided a backing track, with the plan being to crash lunch and burst into song right in the middle of the restaurant.

My brother recorded it, I only wish he had managed to catch the moment when she jumped out of her chair in shock when I suddenly started singing behind her :p As I said, singing is only a hobby for me and this was recorded on a phone, I hope you enjoy.

God bless everyone!

AbbieJean, your earlier message about your husband was beautiful. I hope to be blessed as you were one day! That gives me hope reading about your beautiful experiences. Truly touching.

Talents? I draw, mainly portraits of people. I drew some portraits for money while studying and working a job several years ago, but the money factor took the joy away. Now I draw portraits for gifts.

I play the violin. Not long ago, I gave my violin playing to the Lord and said I only wanted play songs of worship from here on in and the next thing I knew I could pick up entire songs instantly simply by listening to them. It was amazing.

I am absolutely terrible at speaking about my feelings (everything else, I am fine) but I am good at writing or typing it. I love sharing things I have learnt in great detail.

Also, I am a Kindergarten teacher (Man so many teachers in here). I love the way children's faces light up in sheer victory when they learn something as simple as writing their names or climbed to the top of the fort for the very first time. They teach me everyday about what it means to live in the moment, love in the moment and what it means to have an honest heart.
