This is how I plan to reach people who need God. I'd like to see more posts like this.
You and me both. I really enjoy the positive threads like this one. They are so uplifting. I love to hear about what others enjoy and get to know them.

Wonderful, I cannot wait to read it.

The Ascension of the Holy Spirit
J.M. Galindo

The pavement was cruel and merciless to the little children that were walking in the middle of an extended highway that dark night. Their hands were dirty, and their feet were aching of unbearable pain while their stomaches were crumbling inside. They were hungry and their lips were as dry as the desert. No one would have ever thought that they were surviving to a sure death.

Fortunately, there were no cars or lorries on the road and the street lamps were on, leaving a wide trace of light on the rough pavement. Thanks to that, the little infants could keep walking to their destination: nowhere.

No place to go, no place to stay..the situation was becoming painful and horrifying. Their pace was not the same they kept hours ago and definitely as minutes went by, their minds were absent of any happiness possible. There was no reason to think or live under terrible conditions.

And when their eyes were about to close slowly, and their bodies began to tremble, a weak but beeging sound was heard from the little girl that was carrying his little brother in her arms. His eyes were closed, and his breath was decreasing rapidly.

-GOD.....HAVE MERCY!....GO.....-

The little girl fell dead with his brother, while some crows began to surround the area.

***

A poor kid that was passing by, saw the little bodies on the pavement. Somehow, by an odd reason, his heart broke in pain and was moved to compassion.
With tears falling from his cheeks, He managed himself to lift up both bodies and drag them out of the highway.

Then he took one piece of paper, and began to pray. He put his hands toward them and hugging them, began to cry out for mercy to God. The only thing he said was Our Father which art in Heaven. Nothing more.

Then, He put them together, holding their hands and somehow he managed to put their faces to look up to the sky. He put the piece of paper and let it there.
With a last glance, He slept with them. His hands were shaking of the terrible cold that was beginning to blow that night.

Suddenly a mighty force came out from the kid's hand. And something so holy, so pure, began to surround the place scaring away in an instant all the crows that were flying near them. The power began to ascend.....to rise in a powerful motion that even the grass stood still. The kid gave his last breath and died while the little brothers began to open their eyes in wonder.

When they got up...they realized one man was there sleeping. There were holes in his hands and feet. He carried a crown of spines and a heavy cross. But the most amazing thing was that He was hugging one dead kid with all His might. The man's face was full of tears.

There was a paper there. They lifted it up and read the verses that would change their fate forever.

Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Wow, that is very moving. I was in tears at the start, thinking of the children that were suffering. Then, I was in tears again when I realized that Jesus was with these children. Excellent, thank you so much for sharing.

Yes it was you Popclick. I saw the coat you made and it's beautiful. Such a talent.

My mom didn't teach how to sew. I learned to machine sew in a required Home Economics class in junior high. I learned how to do handwork such as embroidery from my paternal grandmother who was a farmer's wife and would mail order her sewing supplies.

With my hand sewing I do counted cross stitching and currently have five projects I'm working. I rotate them as I tend to get bored working on the same one for a length of time. I work on one for while then I pick another one and work on that for a time. I have LOTS waiting to be done as in I have all the fabric, thread and charts ready to start a new one, but I want to finish one of my current ones before I start a new one. With my embroidery I have two different quilt block sets I am working on. One is a sunflower and the other is an iris. I have 13 of the 15 sunflower blocks done and 15 of the 30 iris blocks done. Once all the blocks are completed, I will make quilt tops and have someone long arm (machine quilt) quilt them for me. I also have a three piece crewel set I am working on. It is called Life is Fragile Handle With Prayer. The design has wildflowers and birds. Is very colorful.

With my machine sewing, I sew garments for myself, young children, babies and newborns. I also do 18" doll clothes and decorative items for my home such as quilts, towel toppers, table toppers, window coverings that sort of thing. Currently I am sewing little tooth fairy pillows for a woman who contacted me via my blog. She wants them done up for her grandchildren. With the doll clothes I make for five little girls. Three in Australia and two here in the states.

I, too, like you, enjoy working with color and designing. Enjoy taking a pattern and tweaking in various ways so the finish product is one I can say, "This is an Abbie original." :)

A few of the doll outfits I've sewn that my favorites so far.
Beautiful work! I think the first dress is especially pretty. I have to ask what fabric you used for the little raincoat and hat. I know that slick fabrics like that are a pain to work with!

I made a raincoat a while back out of a tent. And then I decided that I had enough scraps to make a hat. I fused plastic grocery bags together with an iron, and they became the stiff part inside the brim. Clearly, I need help. ;)

I've loved hearing about everyone's talents! We should totally keep this thread going!

Okay, that jacket is beyond adorable. That is some really great work. I love the hat, too. I imagine they look amazing when someone is wearing them.

I agree about the thread, I have really enjoyed getting to know people. We do need to keep it going, it helps to balance out the threads that have so much debate going on.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. So wish I had the body (LOL) to wear this. I don't, but you did a fantastic job with your sewing. Love what you did with the tie, how you fringed it. Cool.

Thank you for the kind words regarding my pictures.

The little rain slicker was made from light weight vinyl. Did not like working with it. Have been asked to make another for a woman's childdaughter. Probably will. LOL :p

Again, you did a beautiful job with that coat and hat.

This is a great idea for a thread Abbiejean!

I'm scratching the surface of my creative side. Its pencil sketching .. have a look in my CC Album: http://christianchat.com/album.php?albumid=10570 :)
Thank you, HarpyEagle. Did view your album. Nice work.

I had to take an art class in college for my elementary education degree. Did one pencil drawing. Liked it too. Have it around here someplace. Got an A on it. Would like to learn how to draw cats and lions. They are my favorites. I tell Gracie all the time when I see a lion on the computer, "Gracie, there's your granddaddy." LOL :)

Toska, thank you :) I started looking at Youtube basic techniques in the beginning and continue to learn new techniques as I go for each portrait .. using a new tool or method that I'm experimenting with. The goal is to use a variety of techniques that looks awesome, but also would only take a certain amount of hours in the process. So, I'm keeping an eye on efficiency as I learn and enjoy it at my pace.

I will dig it out of the box that I think I have it stored in. I have been going through papers and files and pitching, shredding and repacking. As soon as I find it, will post it. :)

You obviously had some natural skill to start with, I am in awe of the fact that you are self taught. Please keep sharing with us, I would love to see what you do in the future.
