It's interesting to me how three vocal respondents claim one solid ethnicity. As your average white American, my heritage can be summarized with a map of Europe.

Granted, there's a higher concentration of British, French, and German. Normans on the British and German side too because they were not very friendly neighbors hahaha.

if you look up romanian in dictionary... it's 100% me, in all my happy joyful silliness😉😀😁

I admire Italy, but...

Dutch

I like Dutch hydro-engineering (polders and such..) and Dutch history. Didja know van Buren was the first American prez for whom English wasn't a first language?

I'm biased of course as me folks emigrated from the Netherlands.

None of this kumbaya, "we are the world, we are the children", Michael Jackson-John Lennon nonsense.

In the end, there can be only one!

I too am a great admirer of the Dutch.

No country produced their level of art.

Their 19th century philosophical contributions are greatly underrated.

The Portuguese broke barriers of exploration, but the Dutch juiced the fruits of that exploration more than any other nation...until the famous merger of 1688.

You referenced van Buren. New York State and Michigan both have a unique culture thanks to the Dutch. I would argue some of the best things about New York rest on Dutch foundations.

I am not changing my vote to either of those two teams. Swiss (chocolate) will always have my heart.

No, I picked this name up from English literature. The book Ivanhoe. I wish I hadn't- it's given the Spanish speakers on here some confusion as well.

I'm trying to impress a Brazilian au pair who lives a couple hours from me. So, yes, I'm trying to learn some Portuguese.
My immediate reaction was that it was one of our surnames, most of them are recognizable as being strictly from our language.
But when i looked closer i saw that it might be Spanish or Italian so im surprised to lean its from an English book

how dare you... ahh just took your move 😛

ur correct most with a u, as majority of my cousins and I like fresstyling cuz I'm profulin!!!
Are u built like a brick? Iv only met one Romanian, his good mate and his got a body that every guy would love to have... hehe

Freestyling??? As in hip hop freestyle, BMX freestyle, skating, freestyle? There are many forms of freestyle... LoL...

If your talking hip hop then our Romance languages are perfect as most words end with O and A...

Last time i looked at the Romanian football team there was only one or two with a surname that didn't end in u...
Petrescu, Radu, Mutu, Demitrescu, Popescu... My mates name doesn't end with a u either

Without using google translate i think your saying that Italy has done more killing than peace...
Italy was only formed in 1861 and founded in 1946 so...
Maybe you could of made an umbrella group there; Italy, Pre-Italian monarchies and the Holy Roman Empire (aka the vatican)

They all have a history full of blood and war...

I think i will have to give my vote to Britain then...
