Kinda surprised that you use powder coating instead of electroplating for the color.

Doesn't powder coating coat the barrel and make the rounds more susceptible for jams?

No, not at all, as long as it is properly cured. Put the coated bullets on a tray in a toaster oven, turn it to 400 deg F and leave them in for approximately 20 minutes. That cures the pc to where it wont come off even if you smash it with a hammer. The cured powder replaces the bullet lube that is normally put on cast bullets. They shoot much cleaner, with almost no smoke, like you get with traditional lube...

I decided I wanted some "pretty" grips for one of my Ruger Blackhawks... I had a block of nicely figured walnut burl, so I sawed a small slab out of it, then re-sawed it down to the approximate thickness I wanted. I used one of the existing grip panels to draw the pattern on the little slabs. I then sawed, rasped, and belt sanded them into a semblance of a grip panel.
I'm almost to the point of final shaping/sanding and finishing.... this is a sneak peek of one of the grips to give an idea what the grain is going to look like.... I'm excited to see them finished. I think they will be very nice....

No stain... I like the natural color of walnut. I use Tru Oil finish... it's a modified linseed oil, and it works well on wood....
Here are the finished grips with 3 coats of oil, buffing with extra fine scotchbrite between coats, and after the final coat. I am happy with the way they turned out....

I have shot a Makarov with a Pierce Palm swell grip that is awesome to shoot.

I've got a Bulgarian 9mm Mak. I had to use it once to talk an individual into not breaking in my front door and moving on down the road.

I have never used a palm swell. I did put a magazine extension on my Glock 26 .40 which gave a tremendous improvement in grip and control.

the 40 is a snappy round in my experience, I converted my 40's to 9mm's

The Makarov is a dandy, I have one with everything wrong for a collector, adjustable sights, .390 acp, stainless, still enjoy it greatly.

I've never shot one with a palm swell.... I've held one or two, but never shot one. It would have to be pretty subtle for me... just a slight swell, I think.

I'm making a set for my Ruger Wrangler birdshead that came with plastic grips... I'm using Texas mesquite... this is what they look like with one coat of TruOil on them.....

I have a problem with my Winchester Defender 1300, 12 gauge. Occasionally it misfires. Anybody experienced this issue with this particular shotgun?

Thanks for your advice, but I don’t think I’m capable of trying that. I just imagine that the entire thing falls apart if I try taking the bolt out lol.
