Here's a few that I commonly experience:
Don't assume that, because I have an eccentric look, I'm brimming with self-confidence.
Don't assume that, because I'm not smiling it means I'm sad ALL the time.
Also, don't assume that, because I'm quiet it means that I'm sad.
Don't assume that because I'm young I don't know what certain things are. I've actually been told I'm too young to know what a cassette tape is, or a road map. Once at work Unchained Melody was playing and I was humming along; lady walks around the corner and tells me I'm too young to know this song. First of all, Unchained Melody is a timeless classic. Second, how young do people think I am??!
Don't assume that because I'm super girly and I enjoy wearing makeup often and dressing up all fancy it means that I'm high maintenance and don't enjoy things like hiking and camping. Most of my shopping is done at thrift stores. And I love camping. I mean real, sleep in a tent, pee in the bushes, catch and cook your own food kind of camping.
;)
1. Can I assume quiet is strange? (I'm a talker. lol)
2. Unchained Melody? Who doesn't know the best song ever?
3. As for what you are fearless to do in the bushes, two words. Cob webs. (Nuff said. Bugophobia still applies for me. lol)

Don't assume because I'm intelligent and educated that I know everything about everything!
Don't assume because I'm outgoing and gregarious that I have a lot of friends. I don't.
Don't assume because I'm discerning that I'm judgmental. There is a difference.
Don't assume because I love my dog that I want to see every cute picture of every cute dog out there. :)
...except this dog, right?

How about five ( for now ) ? :

~ Do not assume that - because I have a serious side - that I do not have another side... ( get it? )

~ Do not assume that - because I freely share knowledge - that I think I know-it-all... ( I don't... )

~ Do not assume that - because I am 'inclined' to teach - that everything I say is intended as such...

~ Do not assume that - because I am mature enough to discuss 'adult' subject-matter objectively - that I am some kind of "crude brute"...

~ Do not assume that - because I am posting this - that I am trying to do anything more than simply take an active part in this thread...

:)

Don't assume that when someone walks by you and doesn't say hi that they ignored you..they could have tunnel vision.
Don't assume that a person without a university degree isn't just as smart as someone who does.
Don't assume that just because someone looks healthy doesn't mean they don't have some raging illness.
Don't assume someone is stuck up because they're actually shy.
Don't assume that if someone is flirtatious with you that they actually like you.
Don't assume that very small children do not understand adult situations.
Don't assume that other people should live up to your convictions and standards.
Don't assume that someone doesn't love the Lord because they struggle with sin.
Don't assume that milk comes from the grocery store.
Don't assume that the ice on the lake is thick enough.

If you see a person napping please don't assume they are tired instead find a frying pan and a wooden spoon and start making noise when they wake up say I'm sorry I didn't know you were sleeping. Okay now that's just not very nice but it is kinda funny.:p
In my book that's enough to receive a bump on your head with your frying pan.

Sadly, I have actually burned a box of Kraft Mac n Cheese lol. #hopeless
I think I have the record for burning things --
The whites of fried eggs and yet the yellow was still too close to raw.
Water. (I was young enough that I couldn't see into the pot, so don't ask me how I did that. I just know I had to clean the pot afterward and there was still plenty of water in it.)

1. Everyone's a little strange ;)
2. My point exactly!
3. Lol cob webs don't bother me at all. And I generally don't mind bugs :) I just get startled when they sneak up on me :p

I dislike the assumption that when you're kind, you're weak.

Oh...don't assume that because my name here is SkittlePumpkin it means that I've tried pumpkin flavoured Skittles. Or have any interest in trying them. Or that I like pumpkin flavoured things in general. Or that I have a bag of Skittles on me all the time that I'm always eating.
Actually...yeah, you can go ahead and assume that last part. It's probably true ;)

Urm lets see....

1) Don't assume I like honey (just give yourself a second or two to get that one)

2) Don't assume I am thick because of my Yorkshire accent

3) Don't assume I am a push over because I am 5 foot 1 inch

4) Don't assume I am a foreigner because of my nice sun tan

5) Don't assume I am from the same country as you just because of my nice sun tan (yes I
know I look like I come from every country on the planet but I don't honest)

6) Don't assume I am looking for a husband because of my nice sun tan

(Bit of theme there but you wouldn't believe the conversations I've had!)

7) Don't assume I am only 30 just because I have no wrinkles, have purple hair and like
doc Martin boots

8) Don't assume I am a wild child just because I have purple hair and like doc Martin boots

(Ah that's better - nice to get that off my chest - oh and one other....)

9) Don't assume I am senile just because I talk to myself!
