I know this is tough, but would you choose:

A. Waffles?

OR

B. Pancakes?

Or some sort of hybrid?

(The description said "Fluffy Pancakes," but I'm pretty sure those things are the resulting offspring of a pancake -- and a donut.) :p

So... Which one would YOU choose, and WHY?

OR...

None of the above? How about something else?

Just a fluffy little fun thread ahead of the weekend (and maybe inspiration for tomorrow's breakfast!) :geek:
for me, waffles win by a slight margin. we eat the Belgian Madagascarian Vanilla thick & fluffy waffles, North Country Clairemont New Hampshire organic bacon & sipping Jamiacan Blue Mountain coffee on weekends along with listening to old country music. the waffles, with the bacon, just please my palate perfectly.

for me, pancakes, by a slim margin, like 52% to 48%.

You just reminded me that I have a package of Non gluten pancakes and waffles mix.
I would rather have waffles with real dark maple syrup.....about now.
Pancakes have to be thin and fried in coconut oil...or fat. More cholesterol the better.....butter too.
I'm hungry.
It'll have to wait.

For me?

European style French Toast.

I take a couple slices of bread, and cut out the center of each with a water glass. Get the pan really hot, crack two eggs and put in the holes of the bread slices. I cook the toast until the eggs are almost done. Leaving the yolk a bit runny. Adds to the flavor IMO. I also cook the cut out portions of the bread slices as well. I like strawberry or blackberry jam for the topping.

I forgot about french toast! I haven't had french toast since I was a teenager. Mmmmm cinnamony, eggy, syrupy, soggy toast.

Waffles..... hands down.
Don't get me wrong, I like pancakes, as well, but.... waffles.
Slightly "crusty" surface, they are perfect for holding the melted butter and syrup..... which tends to just run off pancakes...

A follow-up question would be..... genuine maple syrup (expensive) or Aunt Jemima's ? I refuse to follow the "woke" guidelines.... it will always be Aunt Jemima's to me.

I greatly prefer the real maple syrup... not as cloyingly, syrupy sweet, light bodied, and lightly sweet.... cannot be equalled, much less bested...

I have to pull in the unmentioned, having an affinity toward those left out. Funnel cakes.
In lieu of the means to obtain them, powdered sugar sprinkled waffles provide a reasonable facsimile.

.... and, surprisingly, chicken and waffles is a pretty good combination... this chain of restaurants serves some GREAT soul food... I got to eat at the one in Pasadena, Ca a bunch of years ago....

Why does Texas have to take over absolutely everything -- including waffles?!

Multiple people have mentioned butter and syrup does not stay on pancakes.

Ever since I was a child I have taken a fork to my pancakes and perforated them thoroughly, for just such a reason. Delicious!
